At Guardian of the Fragrances...

 I do one role better than anywhere else in the world;
Supply a specialized selection of trusted, authentic, properly stored, & well preserved vintage fragrance formulas to add to your personal grooming arsenal & upgrade your quality of life.
Superior formulas prior to European / IFRA regulation bans on perfumery ingredients resulting in higher quality, richer, longer lasting, & more natural smelling compositions.

My passionately ran one-person owned & operated business was founded by a fellow fragrance collector that has grown tired of modern classic fragrance formulas that have become overly regulated, reformulated, thinned, watered down, & synthetic - resulting in modern designer houses saturating the industry with the only 'DNA' left & not banned by Europe - the smell of a vanilla cupcake ambroxan candle (lol) - annihilating diversity & options in the industry *unless* you want a classic gutted formula.
Once I realized the best way to 'go forwards' in perfumery is to 'go backwards'  - one notable frustration I had was there was not one reliable source to purchase them all.
So I became one!

Nothing ignites my passion & combines my diverse set of skills as much as selling vintage fragrances to our community.
My diverse set of skilled interests in cosmetic chemistry, cosmetic production mandates, olfactory memory / brain science, plants & naturals, holistic healing, aromatherapy, designer house history, sociology trends in art, beauty, grooming, & fashion - along with my 10-year+ background in revenue protection investigations / fraud protection - & a college degree in merchandising sales & design; results in a specialized expertise & niche experience. It is because of the complicated set of skills it takes to do what I do that I also daringly proclaim 'Vintage designer is the new niche." It is my mission & given talent to research, locate, inspect, quality control, & supply vintage fragrance formulas with enthusiasm & precision to bring you something the industry is telling you its now impossible to have.

My ending goal is to reintroduce vintage fragrances to a wider audience & restore a higher quality of life to as many as I can when perfumes were only held at the highest standards in decades past. The giants can take away almost everything from you - BUT as long as I am around - they can not take away your right to own & smell superior vintage perfumes. This is why I sell *myself* in my business name before my products - I am fighting for you & guarding these formulas for as long as I can stand. I am YOUR fragrance guardian that is the guardian of THEE fragrances! I am doing what I love to do - my business & my inventory is here to stay.

By continuing to listen to my glowing customer reviews left after receiving their specialized curated orders, I stay assured this is where I am meant to be. I am proud to deliver a service & inventory that is unmatched across the vintage fragrance resale industry.

**1987 Batch first formula
House of TIFFANY & CO.
TIFFANY for women | Eau de Parfum | Spray
100 ml. / 3.4 fl. oz. bottle | FULL | NO original packaging
1980's Retro / Vintage / Classic formula!
'72.1% VOL' = 72.1% alcohol | 27.9% oils - ULTRA concentrated.
(Over 6% more oils than the '77.9% VOL' vintage EDT!)
39 year maturation = Highly advanced maceration!
Stronger, richer, and scientifically blended to perfection by time.
*Crystals / gemstones in listing are for creative visual display purposes only, you will only receive everything mentioned above.

Batch # *UB1
Grail deep vintage dark orange colored 3 digit formula!
*Ultra deep vintage '3 digit' batch code not recognized on Check Fresh & Check Cosmetic doesn't have Tiffany & Co. brand registered to database.
Bottle in listing can be easily dated in a 1987-1991 timeline due to the 'Green Dot' symbol (spinning arrows in a circle) missing from the bottom sticker. This was mandated by the FDA/FD&C/FPLA to by a symbol on perfumery by 1992. Additional to that - the bottom sticker is also missing the POA 'Period after opening' symbol mandated on cosmetics in 2005 - far before harsh IFRA ingredient bans on naturals. Bottle quirks, atomizer, juice color, and scent itself also confirms this to be the first formula and a 100% Authentic deep vintage fragrance.
Email me if you have more questions about my dating process.
Thanks guardian followers!

I'm proud to present BACK to my shop,

The OG launch era - first formula - pre IFRA regulation - late 80's - Tiffany for Women EDP!

The holy grail QUEEN of elegant timeless high class perfumery in its nostalgic original formula!

If you know, you know!

An iconic DNA now discontinued from the market and highly sought after in reputable trusted resale shops by collectors. Modern iterations of tiffany perfumery are now incredibly diluted, degraded, and highly limited due to IFRA regulations that came into effect harshly the last 30 years, forcing companies to stop using naturals, oakmoss fixatives, discontinue endangered ingredients and stop harvesting real civet due to animal rights culture. This perfumery is an encapsulated representation of a vintage time capsule in more ways than one.

This deep vintage macerated, pre-IFRA regulated listing is also in its strongest richest EDP format.

A deep vintage advanced macerated Eau de Parfum concentration with 72.1% vol. / 27.9% oils.
One of the most concentrated fragrances I have personally come across. What a concoction!

Be weary of vintage Tiffany for Women 'EDT' Containing 6% less richer oils and more alcohol.

Be weary of this when choosing your perfumery investments.

This is a rich potent niche quality fruity black currant, floral ylang-ylang, earthy sandalwood, and sweet vanilla BEAST of feminine allure. This fragrance resembles the richness, depth & strength of a modern day Parfum/ Elixir/ Extrait!
12-24-48 hour + strength & performance!
I'm not kidding.

Up for buy it now is the nostalgic vintage, iconic, and ultra rare vintage Tiffany for women EDP

The mystique of this 39 year old fragrance still mystifies the fragrance community.
The nostalgia it brings to many is just one of those classic female perfumes that will never be forgotten.

History was made in the late 80's by the prestigious Tiffany & Co. company with what is known as one of the most luxurious and decadent perfumes for women ever created by master perfumer Francois Demachy.

After owning, testing, and selling 300+ fragrances - even I was taken back by the quality, density, richness, and artistry of this juice - it's so breathtaking. This matches and rivals the the house of CHANEL in perfumery tier.
I'm a masculine male with a cologne collection and its tempting for even me to keep this.

This perfume is a multi-layered & multi-faceted masterpiece...

Tiffany for women starts off with this Incredibly uplifting fizzy kick of purple black currant and mandarin fruits.

The mid hits soon after with a completely decadent breathtaking anti-depressant hug of luxurious passionate florals like ylang-ylang, and jasmine. Earthier Iris & violet florals simmer in to balance out the composition and add a sexier edge and strength to it. Like a powerful CEO business woman.

Then that tasty woody gourmand base of creamy sandalwood, amber, and vanilla simmers the fragrance down and gives you a subtle taste of sweetness without overwhelming you, leaving you with a sweet tooth instead of a gourmand headache.

I can see why this was award winning in the late 80's.
It's INCREDIBLE.

Nothing on the shelves today compares to vintage formulations; no flankers, inspired scents, or even the modern day version compares (If there is any?).
This has without a doubt one of the top perfume collectibles of all time.

(SPECIFIC LISTING DETAILS - WHAT YOU ARE BUING)

Batch code : UB1
Batch year / 'era' : 1987-1991
Formula: First launch formula
(Confirmed by the ultra rare 3 digit batches only seen in early launches as well as the missing 'Green-dot' symbol mandated on bottom cosmetic products in 1992)
Batch confirmed by: Perfumery collector expertise, expert appraisal process, & backwards skip tracing. The 3digit batch, missing 'Green-dot' symbol mandated in 1992, missing 'POA' / Period after opening symbol mandated in cosmetics in 2005, the charming aged tarnished real metal, bottle quirks, juice color, and of course the SCENT places this in a deep vintage Tiffany era.
Batch incorrect when ran on: Everything - these '3 digit' batches have no results/ or sites don't have Tiffany perfumery in database.
I research extensively spending days-months-years of personal research as a vintage perfume hobbyist & passionate fragrance seller only to bring you nothing but accurate details & the most helpful information to make your final purchase.
Send me an email if you have additional questions about my dating process.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BATCH RUN WEBSITES - THEY GAS LIGHT YOU:
Vintage fragrances are well known to give errors on batch code sites to place the year. Vintage batch codes are either missing, will commonly not work on batch check websites, OR repeat every 8-10 years and mislabel the timeline.
As a counterfeit investigator & quality appraiser for 10 years in my career of Revenue Protection; these quirks are what drew me to research bottles by means bottle features, distributer history, zip codes, juice color, overall label information, and lastly the scent itself for accurate transparency - at least far more accurate than a shifty batch site.

Vintage juice condition grade:
A+++
Designer Perfumery House Tier: Highest luxury tier in the designer market
Maceration time: 39 years! Incredible. A blackcurrant, ylang ylang, sandalwood vanilla BOMB.
Performs as / concentration rating: A modern day Parfum / Extrait!
Authenticity?: 100% authentic.
Properly stored?: Yes
Well preserved?: Yes
Sour notes?: Nope!
Life of the fragrance?: 12-24-48 hour + strength/ silage.
(Read that again lol).

A real life testimonial sourced by Fragrantica:
"Keep in mind when you read 'Tiffany' on the bottle, you should actually read it as "Chanel". This is a scent 100% developed and manufactured by Chanel in Paris, then rebranded Tiffany for legal reasons.
Tiffany / Chanel is a really balanced floral done in the way only Chanel could do. It is delicate, classy, rich, opulent, alluring and sensual. It is delicate and strong at the same time. It smells rich and expensive, and you won't have any idea of cheap or synthetic aroma chemicals. In fact, it was sold at premium price during its launch.
Whatever your preferences, you will appreciate the composition and the blending of so many exquisite flowers."

Why this formula?:
-Superior perfected original formula now discontinued, and no longer available.
-Rich in naturals, quality, strength, and better base fixatives prior to European IFRA bans.
- Performance relative to a modern Parfum/ Extrait concentration - concentrated ml. means less sprays.
-Spent 39 years macerating - allowing its ingredients to blend and mature for an enhanced, smoother, more complex, and longer lasting scent.

Vintage bottle condition grade:
A-
Bottle age: 3- years
Full bottle?: 100 ml. /  3.4 fl. oz. bottle - FULL to the brim!
Cosmetic Flaws: Only noticeable flaws is really the metal hardware, with a charming aged vintage appearance resembling a pewter effect - perfectly normal with these bottles - it adds to its charm imo - and most vintage Tiffany's age this way naturally. This is non removable with general cleaning supplies. I'm no expert in metal restoration but perhaps this is fixable. Other than that this looks untouched by time.
Atomizer & Cap condition: Atomizer works perfectly, cap included snaps on tight.
Bottom bottle sticker & batch code: Bottom sticker is MINT, batch code fully legible.
Signs of atomizer leaking: None
Glass chips: None
Scuffs: None
Cracks: None

Missing: Original box/ packaging, and a good home! :)

PLEASE NOTE:
-HUGE 100 ml. / 3.4 fl. oz. bottle is FULL.
-Juice properly tested for well preservation & authenticity.
-Batches do not work correctly on batch run websites - populating no results when deep vintage code is ran.
-My expert appraisal process and backwards skip tracing correctly places this bottle between 1987-1991 per the missing Greendot symbol mandated on cosmetics in 1992 & the missing POA 'Period after opening' symbol mandated on cosmetics in 2005 along with other various identifiers - see above for more details.
-Bottle is MINT, however the metal cap is tarnished naturally per its 4 decade age - a charming vintage quirk.
- Listing does not come with original packaging. Will pack like a professional mover to prevent damage.
-Listing is tested, 100% authentic, properly stored, well preserved, & suited to personal taste and memory.
-Satisfaction guaranteed of your money back within 30 days if purchased within the USA.
-With a 1-3-day handling time to curate your order & using USPS Ground Advantage shipping as a standard shipping option (estimated by USPS within 2-5 business days); all US customers should anticipate a maximum of *10 days* to receive your order. Please contact me if you are in a 'must have by this day' situation and I'd be happy to discuss your options!
Please be aware of these quirks prior to purchasing.

(COLLECTOR 1 ON 1 - FINAL THOUGHTS)

This First formula late 80's Tiffany for women EDP formula just keeps getting more rare as we now move farther into the 2020's and into a generation of more severe IFRA regulations weakening the quality and strength of perfumery.
Mix that with the incredible 39 year maceration time and it's virtually impossible to be able to replicate this juice again.
Now dare I say this is one of a kind.

I cannot emphasize how rare this juice is now and will be even more so in the future.

Fair price for a collector wanting to reunite with and/or try this iconic original well preserved first formula from the top tier luxury house of Tiffany & Co.

Just holding this bottle observing it you can feel its vintage charm a light sniff of the atomizer and your knees get weak.
Bottle looks as if they just left the factory in 1987 so it is a time capsule from 39 years ago. Great collector's piece!
Juice sat in dark cabinet for over 4 decades macerating - it's unreal how this stuff smells.
Vintage late 80's EDP is a rich VIBRANT ORANGE.
This isn't' a dye - this is the natural florals per no dyes ingredients! They don't make them like they did before to.

Over 4 decades of maceration with pre-IFRA regulation quality results in a fragrance that resembles a modern PARFUM / ELIXIR / EXTRAIT type fragrance. That means overall less sprays - and less use out of this precious bottle.

This is TIFFANY & CO. arguably even better than Chanel so anything vintage from this brand is basically Niche when its NEW - now throw 39 years macerating during pre IFRA regulations and you have next level perfumery.

Literally 2-3 sprays and you're good for an entire day.

A little pricier in price per ml. compared to some other vintage designers - but trust me - there's a reason for it!

I expect these to continue to climb in value even more - this fragrance is just so breathtaking in quality, strength, and performance.

Iconic grail 1987 juice - check.
Free shipping within the USA - check.
Bonus gift on top of it - check.
Can't go wrong with this one!

Buy this ultra rare collectible & piece of history for your collection!
Experience the vintage formulation of Tiffany & Co. Tiffany for women EDP - it's well worth it.

Item comes from my own private collection.
This is a hard sell - if you are a fragrance collector like me - you know the inner battle.
Grab it before I change my mind.

International pricing disclaimer;

Unfortunately, I WILL NOT 'lower the cost' of the order to accommodate the extra expenses that come with the luxury of international shopping outside the USA.

Due to the luxury tier consensual nature of my inventory;

International shipping, import duties, taxes, and other misc. international charges are the international buyer’s responsibility. These are all additional charges that come with all international sales that I do not personally collect on.

Priority Mail International is the GOLD STANDARD & will be the only shipping utilized at my shop due speedy travel, frequent tracking scans, & its reliable delivery. Zero lost international packages to date. This service is the fastest, & the most reliable global shipping service from my postal carrier including constant tracking scans and delivery in as little as 3 weeks. There is a drastic difference and you are getting what you pay for with this pricier international shipping. If international shipping is not pricier in nature on high ticket items - then that's when you should be concerned.

By purchasing with me internationally you also acknowledge that me offering international shipment on expensive, fragile, irreplaceable, & hazardous alcohol based perfumery items is a risk and challenge I happily chose to take on to reach a global audience. This decision alone on my part is already quite generous - The vast majority of perfumery shops decline to invest into that extra difficulty.

Despite how expensive my listings may seem on top of international charges; my listings prices are studied and fairly priced for their exact selling value prior to listing. I sell for that exact sell value and don’t inflate it for room to negotiate.

Please read this disclaimer, and personally weigh out the pro’s and con’s of an international shipment with me instead of expecting me to lower the fee’s for you.

WHY PURCHASE THROUGH GUARDIAN OF THE FRAGRANCES & NOT OTHER VINTAGE VENDORS

 Gold standard service

Highly praised vintage fragrance vendor & longtime eBay member since 2004! Over 20 years of reliable gold standard service with satisfied customers leaving literal paragraphs on their positive feedback ratings. Your positive experience with me comes before the profit I make in my shop - & my enthusiastic service & money back guarantee surely reflects that. There's a deep sense of accomplishment that comes with being of purpose for your community. Allow me the opportunity to provide this to you & be your lifelong fragrance vendor.

 FREE extra goodies with purchase

Other sellers send you the item you paid for with a sad invoice slip - feels so cold & impersonal. I go beyond that with sending you a goodie bag with purchase to make your fragrance investment more worthwhile. YOU even chose the free gift! A hand written thank you note for supporting my shop included. All items in my shop are accurately & fairly priced to reflect the value of the vintage fragrance. Special goodie bag/bonus gift are never factored into the pricing. It's truly a thank you gift.

 One-category shop

I’m not selling a mess of random various thrift items that I know nothing about. At Guardianofthefragrances; you are shopping at a niche market that specializes solely on discontinued perfumery formulations. ‘One category shops’ like mine provide customers with a unique shopping experience that is backed with knowledge & experience within that category as well as shows I have a deep passion in what I am selling. Buying from fine-tuned one category shops like mine makes all the difference in a rewarding shopping experience. That seller who has listed some sneakers, baseball cards, hoodies, & that cologne you want - he may know its authentic & well preserved, OR he may not.

 Counterfeit Investigation process

With over a decade of professional Revenue Protection expertise investigating fraud & theft for my state of WI utility provider; all vintage fragrances in my shop are expertly ran through a process of deep research which involves but is not limited to; batch runs, bottle dating, differentiating formula differences, production quirk studies, bottle & cap weighing, taking atomizer off to investigate inner hardware, fragrance strength & quality testing - how long it lasts on skin and the quality of that experience, ect. Anything that falls into my hands that doesn't pass this process never reaches my shop.

 Quality appraisal process

I am college board certified in the state of WI in Sales & Design with over 20+ years of professional practice in appraising personal property & merchandise. At guardianofthefragrances; rest assured I am expertly skilled in determining whether your vintage formula has been well preserved by previous handlers. I find the counterfeit investigation process & quality appraisal the most 2 important things in my shop to gain customer trust & I am on a mission to not let you down.

 Mutual perfumery hobbyist & collector

Most importantly, I myself am a vintage fragrance hobbyist & collector. In fact, many listings come from my own personal collection after years of collecting back-up bottles as a hobby. As a hobbyist myself, I know exactly what my shoppers are looking for & what is sorely lacking in this sector. Studying & shopping for rare fragrances for my own collection has taught me the majority of the population are NOT experts in fragrances. Its a language many don't speak like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. In fact; the fragrance industry is the only billion dollar industry where the customer knows the least about what they are buying. Just that it 'smells good'. You even go on a forum discussion with hobbyist's & there's more questions than answers. This phenomenon is truly astonishing to me - as I am a personality type that demands answers. At guardianofthefragrances - I have those answers for you. It’s a passion of mine to go above and beyond the ‘indifferent’ lazy fragrance knowledge on vlogger videos & forums to give you real common-sense truths that Designer houses & retails hold back from us. In fact it was poor aloof information provided to the public about fragrances that gave me the drive to launch my business in the first place.

Why should you spend SO much on a fragrance?
(I know you are asking yourself this if you are new to all this).

✅UNLOCKS STORED MEMORIES IN THE BRAINS HIPPOCAMPUS
Fragrances have an olfactory fingerprint. The brain is so intelligently designed - that it stores a fragrance DNA's composition precisely to the very last ingredient utilized at that time. Try to smell a modern formula and see what happens - it's almost as if your brain gets low key upset.
Only that special formula composed 10-20-30-40 years ago is the key to unlock vivid feelings of nostalgia.

BETTER QUALITY, INGREDIENTS, PERFORMANCE, & ARTISTRY
Made in times prior to cancel culture regulations, production politics, corporate greed, & making man made chemicals for profit; you get the authentic formula(s) the perfumery artist(s) intended from that time resulting in more naturals, less synthetic/cheap aroma chemical alternatives, richer compositions, bolder presence, more layers/less linear, and made in times where smoking was indoors- you get NUCLEAR performance.

SMELL BETTER AND OR HIGHER QUALITY THEN OTHERS AROUND YOU.
In a mass society unaware of vintage fragrances - you will absolutely without a doubt outshine whatever they are wearing. Gain respect, stand out, be the most attractive smelling in the room. Sparking a unique curiosity in you that other's wouldn't give the average individual.
In general this is what makes other's so enthralled with vintage perfumery.
Stop endless YouTube searches seeing if something modern performs - just buy vintage.

INVEST MORE TO OVERALL SPEND LESS
Vintage fragrances are stronger and need less sprays due to concentration; 72% vol of alcohol (28% oils) in 1995 vs. 88% vol of alcohol (12% oils) in 2023. It's not a coincidence they are removing vol %'s on colognes nowadays - they don't want us to know how weakened they are. Many collectors go niche and get into strange off-putting DNAs not realizing they can simply go designer vintage.  Beautiful mass pleasing DNA's in the best quality and strength possible. The best way to go forward in perfumery is to go backwards.
If you buy a vintage- You will realize a bottle that would have lasted you a year is now lasting you over 2+ years. Think about it- you are going from essentially a modern day 'body spray' (Modern edt) to a powerful parfum strength niche like juice. Once you go vintage it's illogical to go back.

VINTAGE FRAGRANCES ARE AN INVESTMENT THAT *INCREASE* IN VALUE
Because of the mass, devoted, & awakening population of the vintage fragrance community; vintage fragrances are a collectible commodity matching similar value in precious paintings, antiques, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, and gold! Unlike most things you 'drive' off the lot; this fragrance will likely be MORE in 2-5-10-15 years. This is my favorite part about being a collector; my purchase investments lack buyers remorse on as I am buying an investment for the future/ and or discreet savings to liquidate as needed. It's as easy to trade fragrances for cash as it is to liquidate your cash for gold.

(Reformulation talk...)

Unfortunately,

In a modern era's effort to make the small allergen pool of the population safe for the bigger masses
(essentially a 'Safe than sorry' approach for everyone);
Harsh fragrance regulations came into effect within the last 20 years in the EU (United Nations) where nearly all fragrances are still composed.

The SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), IFRA (International Fragrance Association) & the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) banded together to axe many precious naturals, and unique aroma chemicals in perfumery that have irritants to a small pool of the population.

To this day every year it seems another ingredient is banned as these chemical giants are auditing Chemistry materials on what seems like an unnecessary 'Woke movement' cancel parade. To play nice and to still get credibility for selling 'Safe' fragrances; all Designer perfumery houses have played with these giants to get full EU support of their product(s).

Between 2010-2022;
The EU has now banned over 2,000 chemicals in the body, skin, hair, & fragrance industry.
This massive chemical ban in body products is more than any other world region in history!
In comparison, the United States has banned only 17 ingredients from body products made in the USA.
Unfortunately for fragrance enthusiasts, a VERY small percentage of designers make their fragrances in America.
By 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned in total.

Rules, reformulations, synthetic ingredients, cost-cutting, & keeping up with modern scent trends have altered, & reduced the performance of many popular favorites from the past.
This is not a theory or paranoia, this is becoming more evident & informative in the fragrance community since the rise of fragrance communities and fragrance Vloggers.
Since this rise; vintage formulas are hunted and highly sought after by hobby-ists.

Many are so accustomed to newer compositions they have no idea what they are missing.
vintage EDT formulas are well known to perform more like intense concentrated essential oil strength NICHE EDP's.
Newer formulations of the modern age are said to perform like a end body spray with average performance but no character development.

DET Vs. DPG:
A chemist in Germany did a gas chromatogram composition breakdown on a vintage & modern day version.
It was found that companies utilized a solvent Diethyl Phthalate (DET) on vintage versions which was known to have a stronger bonding fixative effect on the skin. Modern day fragrances are replaced with Dipropylene Glycol (DPG).
DPG is commonly utilized in lightly fragrance'd shampoos and DET is in home candles. Candle companies don't use DPG as the fragrance would immediately leave the base.
Makes you think.

The death of Oakmoss:

By far one of the most controversial and damaging IFRA regulations was the ban/limitations in natural Oakmoss. This popular ingredient is in near every legendary cologne; Davidoff Cool Water (Also reformulated), Aqua Di Gio (Also reformulated) Versace Eros (Also reformulated). Many are filled with weaker synthetics. Since Oakmoss rests in the base and has fixative effects fragrances also don't perform as well without it.

2022 Lilial ban:

And if you thought your top / mid notes were safe. You're wrong. In 2021 The Scientific committee on consumer safety (SCCS) & the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) banned the note of lilial due to its reaction to sensitive skin (That's it?).

They simply stated "It can sometimes act as an allergen." SOMETIMES?

Lilial was a common note in modern perfumery. Lilial being a synthetic aromatic soapy aldehyde;  it gave the self titled signature Versace Pour Homme it's sweet yet refreshing intense floral green odor.

I don't understand this obsession with making sure the skin doesn't react to materials. Practically every face mask on the market 'Reacts' to your skin and in the long run - improves it's appearance.

Doesn't skin strength train like muscles do?

Fragrance shelf life scam:

Reformulations are one thing, it's something that just can't be avoided.

One of the biggest gaslighting scams on the otherhand that can easily be avoided is the myth fragrances naturally 'Expire/go bad' due to time alone.

Fragrances are not your local produce guys, they are a balanced chemist composition of naturals and fragrant chemical aromas full of preservatives.

If that alone wasn't enough; that recipe is then preserved in a percentage average of 80% ALCOHOL. resulting in 'maybe' 10% natural ingredients to think 10% natural ingredients are up against and a threat against 90% chemical aromas, preservatives, and alcohol is a HUGE stretch.

Alcohol based fragrances should be compared to 50-100 year old bottles of preserved and cherished wine. Like wine, fragrances in fact get better with age from the process of maceration; when naturals soak in chemicals for extended periods of time making the juice richer and full of character. Fragrances are not fresh hand made cosmetics with no preservatives - quite the opposite.

Fragrances were even recovered from the 1912 Titanic wreck with no sign of expiring.

A perfumer perished in the wreck resulting in a sachet left behind on the BOTTOM of the ocean for over 100 years.

This sachet contained mini corked bottles of fragrant oils and perfumery. In an artifact examination room upon recovery, amongst the death, muck, tragedy, and solemn sorrow of decomposing materials the perfumery was opened up and by surprise brought the room to LIFE again, aromas of beautiful fruits, florals, resins, and woods sourced from so long ago.

The experience was so powerful to the scientist- it made a grown man cry.

Fragrances can be mishandled, left in sunlight, heat, and other neglectful extremes...but most certainly don't go bad from just the passing of time.

I guess any myth works for these fragrance industries that want you coming in to buy their 'fresh' bottles.

The modern day scent:

I say all that to say; modern day fragrances as a whole - are complete and utter trash...

whether that be a brand new composed scent or a reformulation of a classic.

The modern recipe:

Fake citrusy candy-like tops to lock you in, aromatic-mids to give you masculinity and bare minimal classic nostalgia, then a base gob-smacked with scratchy ambroxan / synthetic molecules completed with nauseating sweetness to ultimately gaslight you so don't notice how 'fake' the entire composition smells.

It's truly depressing what they release nowadays.

You might as well wear your household cleaner.
