**Please note:

Vintage Tommy Bahama batch codes repeat every *10 years* on CheckFresh & other various batch run sites. This is not a 2020 - its a 2010 batch. This has been discontinued for over a decade.

I have an expert skip tracing dating process on vintage designer perfumes. For me dating a vintage bottle is a part of my passion of selling perfumes.

Bottle can be easily dated as 2010 per '0' starting batch code confirming the period of that decade, taking note of the discontinuation timeline then skip tracing to the appropriate decade; 2010.

This is no modern watered down 2 hour lasting synthetic weak cash grab fragrance seen in the Tommy B line today. This is 3x that performance. Deeming this a highly collectible fragrance from days gone by.
This is vintage mastered superior Tommy Bahama perfection!
Satisfaction guaranteed to match your memories or your money back!

Send me an email if you have more questions regarding my dating process.

Thanks guardian followers!

I'm proud to present BACK to my shop,

The OG launch era - first formula -  discontinued - pre IFRA regulation - late 00's/early 10's 1980s

Tommy Bahama For Men Cologne

The holy grail KING of 2000s spicy citrus amber colognes in its nostalgic original formula!

If you know, you know!

Despite the countless releases still in the Tommy Bahama line,

This iconic DNA & stunning presentation is now discontinued & highly sought after in its original vintage formula.

Modern iterations of all designer fragrances have lost all integrity due to IFRA regulations, budget set backs, & to steer focus toward newer flankers. After harsh IFRA demands in Europe to reduce 'fragrance irritants' the last 30 years; companies have been forced to stop using naturals, stronger synthetic molecules, & real oakmoss fixatives - all deemed 'possible irritants' and banned from fragrances.

Give me break!

Original Tommy Bahama for men - Originally described as a 'Cologne' performs in the likes of an EDT - EDT Intense with its light fizzy molecules lasting all day on the skin. The test sprays lasted all day on my skin myself. This iconic mass pleasing scent along with its boosted performance quality makes Tommy Bahama For Men a must have as collectors track down bottles to bring back into their collection to replace the empty ones they used up long ago.

The Tommy Bahama house as never able to fully recover with IFRA mandates - with most of their modern releases performing 2-3 hours at most. Perhaps with so many releases from this house is their way of hoping we don't notice the difference. Despite not being the strongest scent in the game - Tommy Bahama For Men is the strongest in the houses history - and that's saying something from which the era it was born in.

This perfumery is an encapsulated representation of a vintage time capsule in more ways than one.

This deep vintage macerated, pre-IFRA regulated listing has an impressive oil content similar to modern EDT Intense formats - deeming this original 'COLOGNE' in more the likes of a modern day EDT- EDT Intense. Alcohol concentration determines oil content with this formula containing an impressive  80.3% vol. on the bottle means there are 19.7% oils. composed into the bottle which is a very heavy oil content compared to most EDT's containing 10-15% oils.

This is fragrance is a mass pleasing and sexy bergamot, ginger, pepper, musky creamy amber breauty of masculine allure. Casual and friendly yet soft seductive & alluring. Like being with your favorite person on the beach at sunset. A Harry Fremont masterpiece in its original envisioned artistic expression. A pre-IFRA formula that is regulation free & in the artists full original vision with the best quality materials strength & performance.

This fragrance resembles the richness, depth & strength of a modern day EDT - EDT Intense. A beautifully aromatic lightly spiced creamy musky amber fragrance that worn appropriately into the spring and the warmer months ahead.

A beautiful bergamot-ginger peppery-amber musk cologne with a scent throw that will 'get up on off you' all day!
6-8-10+ hour performance & strength!

WOW!

(ALL ABOUT TOMMY BAHAMA FOR MEN)

Wardrobe category is!;
Shirtless with chino shorts at the cougars mansion.

Up for buy it now is the nostalgic Tommy Bahama Men cologne from the 2000's!

The mystique of this 21 year old fragrance still mystifies the fragrance community.
The number of flankers this original king has influenced is unreal.
Despite the flankers- and despite this still on the shelves- nothing compares to the original formula.

This timeless note composition is perfect for casual gatherings, dates, the office, and summer nights out due to its laid back but sexy nuances of bergamot, spices, and creamy ambered musks. It just leaves such a long lasting welcoming friendly memorable non offensive scent cloud that makes you smell as friendly as it does sexy and alluring. After all - who doesn't want to date the 'nice guy?'

Unfortunately,

This original and classic release that launched the Tommy Bahama cologne line has since long been discontinued.

The original formula from the 00's had a longer lasting fizzy performance cloud - something the newer flankers can no longer pull off with ingredient bans. You simply cannot replicate what these classic colognes used to do & all designer brands continue to prove this by releasing their awful weakened modern formulas.

Fortunately,

At Guardian of the Fragrances, it is my mission to 'undo' all that, take you back into past by offering fragrances from their golden eras, & most of all offer passion & transparency in everything I do.

With me, you get a selection of unalerted, well preserved, authentic, relics from the past in their original intended vision of quality, & strength.

With my passion in the art of perfumery, natural based ingredients, & a distain for all organizational overreach regulation & mandates; I make it my passion & joy to bring well preserved, authentic, & superior collectible formulas to my shop to share with the world.

With that said I bring you the classic original vintage Tommy Bahama For Men Cologne.

This is truly a must have collectible & store staple with Guardian of the Fragrances & I am proud to present it to my store.

Formula: Discontinued formula
Batch confirmed by: Expert skip-tracing on vintage designer perfumes. See intro for full details on my dating process for this listing.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BATCH RUN WEBSITES - THEY GAS LIGHT YOU TO APPEAR CREDIBLE:
Vintage fragrances are well known to give errors on batch code sites to place the year. Vintage batch codes are either missing, will commonly not work on batch check websites, OR repeat every 8-10 years and mislabel the timeline.
As a counterfeit investigator & quality appraiser for 10 years in my career of Revenue Protection; these quirks are what drew me to research bottles by means bottle features, distributer history, zip codes, juice color, overall label information, and lastly the scent itself for accurate transparency - at least far more accurate than a shifty batch site.

Vintage juice condition grade:
A
Designer House Tier: Entry level designer with 2010 compositions comparable to most modern mid-tier releases today.
Maceration time: 16 years
Performs as / concentration rating: A modern day EDT / EDT Intense
STAND out nuances: Bergamot, spicy pepper, tangy ginger, and sweet ambered musks that doesn't quit! This is no everyday 2 hour Tommy Bahama 'Cologne' 6-8-10+ hours performance. You can sense the heavier spices & more intense aroma chemicals prior to making everything 'irritant safe' during the IFRA wave that followed after this era.
Authenticity?: 100% authentic!
Properly stored?: Yes
Well preserved?: Yes
Sour notes?: Nope!
Life of the fragrance?: 6-8-10 hour + strength/ silage.
(Test spray lasted days on my arm)

Why this formula?:
-Formula now discontinued, & no longer available - what you see today on shelves is a money grab.
-Rich in naturals, quality, strength, & better base fixatives prior to European IFRA bans.
- Performance relative to a modern EDT / EDT Intense - concentrated ml. means less sprays than your typical modern Tommy Bahama.
-Spent 16 years macerating - allowing its ingredients to blend & mature for an enhanced, smoother, more complex, & longer lasting scent.

Vintage bottle condition grade:
A-
Bottle age: 16 years
Original packaging included?: No
Tester bottle or regular presentation?: Regular presentation
Full bottle: Yes! - just missing a few sprays to test
Cosmetic Flaws: Bottle near mint, with some slight peeling of the ambered color paint that dyes the bottle. Only noticeable in the corners - perfectly normal as this coating peels and bubbles these bottles age. Excellent condition compared to others i've seen. See images for full transparency.
Atomizer & Cap condition: Both are mint
Bottom bottle sticker & batch code: Bottom sticker mint - batch code legible and bottle properly dated.
Signs of atomizer leaking: None
Glass chips: None
Scuffs: Just on the ambered color coating - glass is perfect underneath
Cracks: None

Missing: Original packaging & a good home! :)

PLEASE NOTE:
-Juice properly tested for well preservation & authenticity.
-100 ml. / 3.4 fl. oz. bottle is full and just missing a few test sprays.
-Listing expertly skip traced to 2010 per my expert skip tracing experience on vintage designer perfumes. See intro for more details.
-This is officially advertised by the brand as an EDC. With that said - bottle says 80% alcohol which means over 20% oils identical to most EDT'S so perhaps 'COLOGNE' was a part of the name as this behaves along the likes of an EDT / EDT Intense.
-Product is in like new condition, with only noticeable cosmetic flaws being the wearing orange/ amber colored paint in the corners that dyes the bottle an amber hue. Very typical as these age.
- Listing does NOT come with original packaging. Will pack like a professional mover to prevent damage.
-Listing is tested, 100% authentic, properly stored, well preserved, & suited to personal taste and memory.
-Satisfaction guaranteed of your money back within 30 days purchased within the USA.
-With a 1-3-day handling time to curate your order & using USPS Ground Advantage shipping as a standard shipping option (estimated by USPS within 2-5 business days); all US customers should anticipate a maximum of *10 days* to receive your order. Please contact me if you are in a 'must have by this day' situation and I'd be happy to discuss your options!
Please be aware of these quirks prior to purchasing.

(COLLECTOR 1 ON 1 - FINAL THOUGHTS)

This discontinued early 2010's Tommy Bahama formula just keeps getting more rare as we now move farther into the 2020's & into a generation of more severe IFRA regulations weakening the quality & strength of perfumery.

Mix that discontinued formula with a now incredible 16 year maceration time & it's virtually impossible to be able to replicate this juice again.
Now dare I say this is one of a kind.

I cannot emphasize how rare this juice is now & will be even more so in the future.

Decent price for a collector wanting to reunite with &/or try this iconic original well preserved first formula from the house of Tommy Bahama

Just holding this observing it you can feel its vintage charm.
Bottle looks as if they just left the factory in 2010 so it is a time capsule from 16 years ago. Great collector's piece!

Over 1.5 decades of maceration with pre-IFRA regulation quality results in a 'COLOGNE' fragrance that resembles a modern EDT / EDT Intense. That means overall less sprays - & less use out of this precious bottle.

100 ml. / 3.4 fl. oz. amount fill. That's over 1000 deep potent vintage sprays left in this.

Do the math on how long this will last you - kind of cool - possibly a lifetime of use if only used on special occasions or to muster up nostalgic memories of the 2000's.

Product will last you longer than meets the eye.

These go for OVER $500-1000 right now. The nostalgia is REAL.
Listing this large bottle for decent price per ml. in comparison to re-own / try this iconic original well preserved formulation!

I expect these lower end values to eventually phase out with time as these bottles dwindle.
This fragrance is just such an iconic classic that exemplified the millennium era.

Best prices offered year round!:

✓Frequent pricing audits done by me to make sure listings reflect actual value.

✓Honest pricing - No 'on sale' tactics, discount tricks, nor promo codes.

✓Listings never inflated to negotiate nor to trick you into paying over value.

✓Pricing fluid & subject to change based on eBay selling value within last 90 days in archived sold listings.

International pricing disclaimer;

Unfortunately, I WILL NOT 'lower the cost' of the order to accommodate the extra expenses that come with the luxury of international shopping outside the USA.

Due to the luxury tier consensual nature of my inventory;

International shipping, import duties, taxes, and other misc. international charges are the international buyer’s responsibility. These are all additional charges that come with all international sales that I do not personally collect on.

Priority Mail International is the GOLD STANDARD & will be the only shipping used at my shop due speedy travel, frequent tracking scans, & its reliable delivery. Zero lost international packages to date. This service is the fastest, & the most reliable global shipping service from my postal carrier including constant tracking scans and delivery in as little as 3 weeks. There is a drastic difference and you are getting what you pay for with this pricier international shipping. If international shipping is not pricier in nature on high ticket items - then that's when you should be concerned.

By purchasing with me internationally you also acknowledge that me offering international shipment on expensive, fragile, irreplaceable, & hazardous alcohol based perfumery items is a risk and challenge I happily chose to take on to reach a global audience. This decision alone on my part is already quite generous - The vast majority of perfumery shops decline to invest into that extra difficulty.

Despite how expensive my listings may seem on top of international charges; my listings prices are studied and fairly priced for their exact selling value prior to listing. I sell for that exact sell value and don’t inflate it for room to negotiate.

Please read this disclaimer, and personally weigh out the pro’s and con’s of an international shipment with me instead of expecting me to lower the fee’s for you.

✅WHY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THROUGH GUARDIAN OF THE FRAGRANCES & NOT OTHER VENDORS…

✓ Gold standard service

Highly praised vintage fragrance vendor & longtime eBay member since 2004! Over 20 years of reliable gold standard service with satisfied customers leaving literal paragraphs on their positive feedback ratings. Your positive experience with me comes before the profit I make in my shop - & my enthusiastic service & money back guarantee surely reflects that. There's a deep sense of accomplishment that comes with being of purpose for your community. Allow me the opportunity to provide this to you & be your lifelong fragrance vendor.

✓ FREE extra goodies with purchase

Other sellers send you the item you paid for with a sad invoice slip - feels so cold & impersonal. I go beyond that with sending you a goodie bag with purchase to make your fragrance investment more worthwhile. YOU even chose the free gift! A hand written thank you note for supporting my shop included. All items in my shop are accurately & fairly priced to reflect the value of the vintage fragrance. Special goodie bag/bonus gift are never factored into the pricing. It's truly a thank you gift.

✓ One-category shop

I’m not selling a mess of random various thrift items that I know nothing about. At Guardianofthefragrances; you are shopping at a niche market that specializes solely on discontinued perfumery formulations. ‘One category shops’ like mine provide customers with a unique shopping experience that is backed with knowledge & experience within that category as well as shows I have a deep passion in what I am selling. Buying from fine-tuned one category shops like mine makes all the difference in a rewarding shopping experience. That seller who has listed some sneakers, baseball cards, hoodies, & that cologne you want - he may know its authentic & well preserved, OR he may not.

✓ Counterfeit Investigation process

With over a decade of professional Revenue Protection expertise investigating fraud & theft for my state of WI utility provider; all vintage fragrances in my shop are expertly ran through a process of deep research which involves but is not limited to; batch runs, bottle dating, differentiating formula differences, production quirk studies, bottle & cap weighing, taking atomizer off to investigate inner hardware, fragrance strength & quality testing - how long it lasts on skin and the quality of that experience, ect. Anything that falls into my hands that doesn't pass this process never reaches my shop.

✓ Quality appraisal process

I am college board certified in the state of WI in Sales & Design with over 20+ years of professional practice in appraising personal property & merchandise. At guardianofthefragrances; rest assured I am expertly skilled in determining whether your vintage formula has been well preserved by previous handlers. I find the counterfeit investigation process & quality appraisal the most 2 important things in my shop to gain customer trust & I am on a mission to not let you down.

✓ Mutual perfumery hobbyist & collector

Most importantly, I myself am a vintage fragrance hobbyist & collector. In fact, many listings come from my own personal collection after years of collecting back-up bottles as a hobby. As a hobbyist myself, I know exactly what my shoppers are looking for & what is sorely lacking in this sector. Studying & shopping for rare fragrances for my own collection has taught me the majority of the population are NOT experts in fragrances. Its a language many don't speak like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. In fact; the fragrance industry is the only billion dollar industry where the customer knows the least about what they are buying. Just that it 'smells good'. You even go on a forum discussion with hobbyist's & there's more questions than answers. This phenomenon is truly astonishing to me - as I am a personality type that demands answers. At guardianofthefragrances - I have those answers for you. It’s a passion of mine to go above and beyond the ‘indifferent’ lazy fragrance knowledge on vlogger videos & forums to give you real common-sense truths that Designer houses & retails hold back from us. In fact it was poor aloof information provided to the public about fragrances that gave me the drive to launch my business in the first place.

Why should you spend SO much on a fragrance?
(I know you are asking yourself this if you are new to all this).

✅UNLOCKS STORED MEMORIES IN THE BRAINS HIPPOCAMPUS
Fragrances have an olfactory fingerprint. The brain is so intelligently designed - that it stores a fragrance DNA's composition precisely to the very last ingredient used at that time. Try to smell a modern formula and see what happens - it's almost as if your brain gets confused, offended, and low key upset. Only that special formula composed 10-20-30-40 years ago is the key to unlock vivid feelings of nostalgia.
✅BETTER QUALITY, INGREDIENTS, PERFORMANCE, & ARTISTRY
Made in times prior to cancel culture regulations, production politics, corporate greed, & making man made chemicals for profit; you get the authentic formula(s) the perfumery artist(s) intended from that time resulting in more naturals, less synthetic/cheap aroma chemical alternatives, richer compositions, bolder presence, more layers/less linear, and made in times where smoking was indoors- you get NUCLEAR performance.
✅SMELL BETTER AND OR HIGHER QUALITY THEN OTHER MEN AROUND YOU.
In a mass society unaware of vintage fragrances - you will absolutely without a doubt outshine whatever they are wearing. Gain respect, stand out, be the most attractive smelling in the room. In general this is what makes the male gender so enthralled with colognes but vintage amplifies this to the next level. Stop endless YouTube searches seeing if something modern performs - just buy vintage.
✅INVEST MORE IN VINTAGE TO SPEND LESS OVER TIME ON MODERN
Vintage fragrances are stronger and need less sprays due to concentration; 72% vol of alcohol (28% oils) in 1995 vs. 88% vol of alcohol (12% oils) in 2023. It's not a coincidence they are removing vol %'s on colognes nowadays - they don't want us to know how weakened they are. Many collectors go niche and get into strange off-putting DNAs not realizing they can simply go designer vintage.  Beautiful mass pleasing DNA's in the best quality and strength possible. The best way to go forward in perfumery is to go backwards.
If you buy a vintage- You will realize a bottle that would have lasted you a year is now lasting you over 2+ years. Think about it- you are going from essentially a modern day 'body spray' (Modern edt) to a powerful parfum strength niche like juice. Once you go vintage it's illogical to go back.
✅VINTAGE FRAGRANCES NEVER LOSE THEIR VALUE & *INCREASE* OVER TIME.
Because of the mass, devoted, & awakening population of the vintage fragrance community; vintage fragrances are a collectible commodity matching similar value in precious paintings, antiques, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, and gold! Unlike most things you 'drive' off the lot; this fragrance will likely be MORE in 2-5-10-15 years. This is my favorite part about being a collector; my purchase investments lack buyers remorse on as I am buying an investment for the future/ and or discreet savings to liquidate as needed. It's as easy to trade fragrances for cash as it is to liquidate your cash for gold.

✅OVERALL BENEFITS OF INVESTING IN VINTAGE PERFUMERY AND AVOIDING MODERN FORMULAS

✓Confidence booster

✓Smell unlike anyone else & one of a kind

✓Vividly triggers locked memories

✓Spiritual enhancements

✓Concentrated Aromatherapy

✓Makes you more attractive

✓Greater impressions

✓Hidden equity – the modern ‘bars of gold’

✓Describe your personality better

✓Impress other people more

✓Positive moods further enhanced

✓Supporting the artistry and original vision of the DNA

✓Better connection to nature experiencing naturals

(Reformulation talk...)

Unfortunately,

In a modern era's effort to make the small allergen pool of the population safe for the bigger masses
(essentially a 'Safe than sorry' approach for everyone);
Harsh fragrance regulations came into effect within the last 20 years in the EU (United Nations) where nearly all fragrances are still composed.

The SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), IFRA (International Fragrance Association) & the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) banded together to axe many precious naturals, & unique aroma chemicals in perfumery that have irritants to a small pool of the population.

To this day every year it seems another ingredient is banned as these chemical giants are auditing Chemistry materials on what seems like an unnecessary 'Woke movement' cancel parade. To play nice & to still get credibility for selling 'Safe' fragrances; all Designer perfumery houses have played with these giants to get full EU support of their product(s).

Between 2010-2022;
The EU has now banned over 2,000 chemicals in the body, skin, hair, & fragrance industry.
This massive chemical ban in body products is more than any other world region in history!
In comparison, the United States has banned only 17 ingredients from body products made in the USA.
Unfortunately for fragrance enthusiasts, a VERY small percentage of designers make their fragrances in America.
By 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned in total.

Rules, reformulations, synthetic ingredients, cost-cutting, & keeping up with modern scent trends have altered, & reduced the performance of many popular favorites from the past.
This is not a theory or paranoia, this is becoming more evident & informative in the fragrance community since the rise of fragrance communities & fragrance Vloggers.
Since this rise; vintage formulas are hunted & highly sought after by hobby-ists.

Many are so used to newer compositions they have no idea what they are missing.
vintage EDT formulas are well known to perform more like intense concentrated essential oil strength NICHE EDP's.
Newer formulations of the modern age are said to perform like a end body spray with average performance but no character development.

DET Vs. DPG:
A chemist in Germany did a gas chromatogram composition breakdown on a vintage & modern day version.
It was found that companies used to use a solvent Diethyl Phthalate (DET) on vintage versions which was known to have a stronger bonding fixative effect on the skin. Modern day fragrances are replaced with Dipropylene Glycol (DPG).
DPG is commonly used in lightly fragranced shampoos & DET is in home candles. Candle companies don't use DPG as the fragrance would immediately leave the base.
Makes you think.

The death of Oakmoss:

By far one of the most controversial & damaging IFRA regulations was the ban/limitations in natural Oakmoss. This popular ingredient is in near every legendary cologne; Davidoff Cool Water (Also reformulated), Aqua Di Gio (Also reformulated) Versace Eros (Also reformulated). Many are filled with weaker synthetics. Since Oakmoss rests in the base & has fixative effects fragrances also don't perform as well without it.

2022 Lilial ban:

& if you thought your top / mid notes were safe. You're wrong. In 2021 The Scientific committee on consumer safety (SCCS) & the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) banned the note of lilial due to its reaction to sensitive skin (That's it?).

They simply stated "It can sometimes act as an allergen." SOMETIMES?

Lilial was a common note in modern perfumery. Lilial being a synthetic aromatic soapy aldehyde;  it gave the self titled signature Versace Pour Homme it's sweet yet refreshing intense floral green odor.

I don't understand this obsession with making sure the skin doesn't react to materials. Practically every face mask on the market 'Reacts' to your skin & in the long run - improves it's appearance.

Doesn't skin strength train like muscles do?

Fragrance shelf life scam:

Reformulations are one thing, it's something that just can't be avoided.

One of the biggest gaslighting scams on the otherhand that can easily be avoided is the myth fragrances naturally 'Expire/go bad' due to time alone.

Fragrances are not your local produce guys, they are a balanced chemist composition of naturals & fragrant chemical aromas full of preservatives.

If that alone wasn't enough; that recipe is then preserved in a percentage average of 80% ALCOHOL. resulting in 'maybe' 10% natural ingredients to think 10% natural ingredients are up against & a threat against 90% chemical aromas, preservatives, & alcohol is a HUGE stretch.

Alcohol based fragrances should be compared to 50-100 year old bottles of preserved & cherished wine. Like wine, fragrances in fact get better with age from the process of maceration; when naturals soak in chemicals for extended periods of time making the juice richer & full of character. Fragrances are not fresh hand made cosmetics with no preservatives - quite the opposite.

Fragrances were even recovered from the 1912 Titanic wreck with no sign of expiring.

A perfumer perished in the wreck resulting in a sachet left behind on the BOTTOM of the ocean for over 100 years.

This sachet contained mini corked bottles of fragrant oils & perfumery. In an artifact examination room upon recovery, amongst the death, muck, tragedy, & solemn sorrow of decomposing materials the perfumery was opened up & by surprise brought the room to LIFE again, aromas of beautiful fruits, florals, resins, & woods sourced from so long ago.

The experience was so powerful to the scientist- it made a grown man cry.

Fragrances can be mishandled, left in sunlight, heat, & other neglectful extremes...but most certainly don't go bad from just the passing of time.

I guess any myth works for these fragrance industries that want you coming in to buy their 'fresh' bottles.

The modern day scent:

I say all that to say; modern day fragrances as a whole - are complete & utter trash...

whether that be a brand new composed scent or a reformulation of a classic.

The modern recipe:

Fake citrusy candy-like tops to lock you in, aromatic-mids to give you masculinity & bare minimal classic nostalgia, then a base gob-smacked with scratchy ambroxan / synthetic molecules completed with nauseating sweetness to ultimately gaslight you so don't notice how 'fake' the entire composition smells.

It's truly depressing what they release nowadays.

You might as well wear your household cleaner.
