**Please note:
Vintage ARAMIS batches repeat every 10 years OR don't populate at all. This is not a 2020/2010/2000/1990 batch. Listing skip traced to 1980 per bottle details, production quirks, & scent itself. Some of the earliest batches of ARAMIS 'COLOGNE SPRAYS' were featured in the dark brown-black cylinder bottle with the 'over fold' golden boxes. Production wise there is no bar code (mandated on cosmetic packaging in 1989), no 'Green dot symbol' (spinning arrows) (mandated on cosmetic packaging in 1992), nor is there a PAO (Period after opening) symbol (mandated on packaging AND bottles in 2005). Scent is rich of chocolatey patchouli and oakmoss! Nothing like later versions. All these quirks would make anything later than 1980 impossible and place this in the holy grail golden era of the 1980's.

Original formulas of Aramis Cologne was well known for its rich potent niche like resinous myrrh, chocolatey patchouli, and oakmoss - a mysterious earthy fragrance with a mystical spiritual resinous myrrh that just seeps deep into your pores and emanates a stunning scent cloud around you.

-Spent 46 years macerating - a process that allows its ingredients to blend and mature for an enhanced, smoother, more complex, & even longer lasting scent.
-Unlike other designer brands, CHANEL has strict distribution controls. Perfumes from this era were only available through their own directly operated boutiques, authorized websites making vintage bottle that much more exclusive and rare on resale markets.
Where later formulas (even the strong formulations) are more aldehydic - citrus - floral forward - this early 80s formula amplifies the resins and earthy tones for an unapologetic masculine throw. This is most likely due to the formula being in a timeline PRE 'Soft early 90's oakmoss regulations' done by IFRA limiting oakmoss to 0.6% in 1991. A golden era timeline of heavier concentrations of naturals & fixatives prior to the IFRA mandates in the most masculine era of male colognes.

The original formula was a potently luxurious & darker - with less aromatics and spices while amplifying the resinous myrrh, chocolatey patchouli and unregulated oakmoss - something ARAMIS can no longer pull off with oakmoss bans. Nothing on the shelves today compares to the first vintage formulation. Modern formula is a shadow of its former self originally build like an weaker light EDT built fragrance vs its EDT Intense / EDP like counterpart from the 80s.
You simply cannot replicate a deeper heavy natural musky oakmoss nuance with synthetic ingredients - & all designer brands continue to prove this by releasing their weaker modern formulas.
