At Guardian of the Fragrances I do one thing better than anywhere else on the web;
Supply a specialized selection of authentic, well preserved, premium quality vintage fragrance formulas prior to European regulation bans on perfumery ingredients.

Guardian of the Fragrances;
a one-person owned & operated business was founded by a fragrance collector that has grown tired of regulated, reformulated, watered down, & overly synthetic modern fragrances. During my vintage fragrance collection journey - one notable frustration I had was there was not one reliable source to purchase them all.
So I became one!

It is my mission to enthusiastically research, locate, inspect, quality control, & supply vintage fragrance formulas for fair vintage resale value. I've explored many different career paths, nothing ignites my passion as much as selling vintage fragrances to our community. My business & my inventory is here to stay.

By continuing to listen to my customers who are in the same hobby as me,
I am proud to deliver a service & inventory that is unmatched across the vintage fragrance resale industry.

*Please note:
CK batch codes are incorrect, and/or repeat every 10 years on Check Fresh & do not populate on Check Cosmetic. 2004 batch identified per raiders confirming last # on batch code validates the year. For example; the '4' = 2004.
Age of bottle additionally identified by bottle details, scent itself ,and the *missing* 'POA' / Period after opening symbol (Mandated in 2005) makes this batch code no later than 2004.

(ALL ABOUT CK ETERNITY FOR MEN EDT)

Wardrobe category is!;
Sunset on your way to the club in 1992,
Cuban shirt flowing down Miami Beach Boulevard in your Honda CBR 900

Up for immediate purchase is the nostalgic vintage CK Eternity for men from the 1990's!

The mystique of this 36 year old fragrance still mystifies the fragrance community.
Nothing on the shelves today compares to the vintage formulation. No flankers, inspired scent(s), or even the modern day version compares.

The king of greens Carlos Benaim (Perfumer of Polo Green) composed this in 1989 and created a memorable footprint in 1990's men's fragrances resulting in a staple timeless modern green aromatic fougere.
Countless flankers have been composed inspired by the original.

Like many 1990's composures,
The fragrance itself is a beautiful and timeless fragrance.
Its uplifting yet its dark. Like a sandy dusty cloud over a tropical foamy ocean beach.
Citrus green aromatics, a traditional masculine lavender backbone, with alluring jasmine, and masculine woods.
Delicately powerful.

Its masterfully blended between the top, mid, and base notes.
All of the warm hues from the Brazilian rosewood, sandalwood, amber, and musk climb up from the base notes and mix with the crisp cool juniper berry, sage, bergamot, and lemon nuances.
The dusty coriander and powdery lavender tie all the layers together, in a gentle effortless way; similar to a black and white memory in your mind creating a lived memory a hazy fantasy to pull from at any given moment.

Unfortunately, like most other things that should be left alone,
Eternity for men has been altered, a shadow of its former self, and is now a thing of the past.

The original formula
Due to the age of the fragrance,
This fragrance has endured a life of 3 'world fragrance wars'.
IFRA regulations, endangered ingredient politics / ingredient resourcing (Rosewood oil), & lastly exchanging company hands leading to cost cutting & lower designer tier treatment.

What many don't realize is when CK originally released this it was niche in quality and potent in strength; resembling a modern EDP. All the facets mentioned above are amplified from 720p to 2160p 4K television.

Vintage CK Eternity was a complex masterpiece with richness and multiple layers to it. Nothing synthetic about it. A luxury experience from beginning to end. The salty lavender woods simmering on your skin at the end while the natural smelling green nuances still whisper in the background is breathtaking.
Especially when you compare it to what they did to the modern version.

there is absolutely no comparison to whatever they are pushing on the shelves now.
Strength is one thing but quality is everything.

The new formula;

Unfortunately, They don't make them like they did prior.

The basic modern formula recipe; more alcohol, more synthetics, less naturals, less notes.

How exciting. CK Eternity has been heavily changed & reformulated into a sickening, plasticky, synthetic mess. Screechy faux-citrus top that smells like OFF! Mosquito repellant, and a watered down base.

The modern formula resembles that synthetic smell of a 'fresh' grocery bag. This modern formulation is quite perplexing as its difficult to even pickup the original vision of Carlos Benaim. Not only does it smell synthetic, and not the same, but it doesn't last long on the skin. After barely two hours the scent it literally gone and the base never shows up as a significant player. They likely added that strange plasticky note to attempt to boost longevity. Awful formula that is industrially-synthetic, with zero complexity.

Unlike Chanel, who still have a tier of quality necessary in their modern formulas;

Reformulations with brands like Calvin Klein - are particularly DEVASTATING.

All vintage formulas of decades past matched in quality and luxury no matter the designer brand, but over time with IFRA regulations; tier's began to decipher a reformulation. Almost as if the higher the tier designer brand, the stronger the power at the fragrance negotiation table. The designer brand and its luxury tier in fashion truly determines how far they are willing to gut or keep the integrity of a fragrance.

Not only that, but CK transferred hands from Calvin Klein Cosmetics/ Unilever to Coty.

Company takeovers are particularly devastating as cutting costs come into effect immediately to protect revenue of the new supplier, different ideals, focus, budgets, no personal connection to the fragrance.

What's shady about this fragrance in particular is so classically vintage Coty likely had little remorse reformulating this one, knowing people would notice but that it will just influence them to buy some modern flankers. Almost like a computer virus company creating computer viruses so you buy their product.

Evil!

Fortunately,

At Guardian of the Fragrances, it is my mission to 'undo' all that, take you back into past by offering fragrances from their golden eras, and most of all offer passion and transparency in everything I do.

With me, you get a selection of unalerted, well preserved, authentic, relics from the past in their original intended vision of quality, and strength.

With my passion in the art of perfumery, natural based ingredients, and a distain for all organizational overreach regulation & mandates; I make it my passion & joy to bring well preserved, authentic, & superior collectible formulas to my shop to share with the world.

With that said I bring you vintage Calvin Klein Eternity for men EDT.

Batch year: 2004
Formula: 1990's formula
Batch confirmed by: '4' at end of batch confirming year per Raiders of the lost scent. '4' = 2004. Checkfresh lies and tells you 2020. *Missing* 'POA' / Period after opening symbol on the bottle which was mandated on bottom stickers in 2005 confirms this bottle is over 22 years old.

I am an experienced counterfeit investigator, quality appraiser, and collector.
I research extensively spending days-months-years of personal research diving into histories of beauty production companies, and countless designer fragrances launched to the public in the last 50+ years. As a vintage perfume hobbyist & passionate fragrance seller only to bring you nothing but accurate details & the most helpful information to make your final purchase.
Send me an email if you have additional questions about my dating process.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BATCH RUN WEBSITES - THEY GAS LIGHT YOU:
Vintage fragrances are well known to give errors on batch code sites to place the year. Vintage batch codes are either missing, will commonly not work on batch check websites, OR repeat every 8-10 years and mislabel the timeline.
As a counterfeit investigator & quality appraiser for 10 years in my career of Revenue Protection; these quirks are what drew me to research bottles by means bottle features, distributer history, zip codes, juice color, overall label information, and lastly the scent itself for accurate transparency - at least far more accurate than a shifty batch site.

Vintage juice condition grade:
A
Designer House Tier: Mid C-Tier with CK fragrances reaching upper tier quality in their vintage eras.
Maceration time: 22 years! Incredible.
Performs as / concentration rating: A modern day EDT intense/ EDP.
Authenticity?: 100% authentic.
Properly stored?: Yes
Well preserved?: Yes
Sour notes?: Nope!
Life of the fragrance?: 8-10-24 hour + strength/ silage.
(Test spray lasted 24 hours minimal on my arm)

Why this formula?:
-Formula now discontinued, and no longer available.
-Rich in naturals, quality, strength, and better base fixatives prior to European IFRA bans.
- Performance relative to a modern EDP concentration - concentrated ml. means less sprays.
-Experience & enjoy CK Eternity for men in the original artists vision and during the fragrance's prime when more budget dollars was invested into while producing it.
-Spent  a whopping 22 years macerating - allowing its ingredients to blend and mature for an enhanced, smoother, more complex, and longer lasting scent. You can't replicate this process (Unless you wait till 2050).

Vintage bottle condition grade:
A-
Bottle age: 22 years
Full bottle?: Yes.
Cosmetic Flaws?: Just some slight tarnishing on the real metal neck collar - perfectly normal occurrence with Eternity bottles.
(Just ads to it's vintage charm)
Atomizer & Cap condition: General light tarnishing on built in neck atomizer - nothing else to note.
Bottom bottle sticker & batch code: Both legible and mint.
Font wear on bottle: None (Shocking for the age - font on these wears often and doesn't typically age well).
Signs of atomizer leaking: None
Glass chips: None
Scuffs: None
Cracks: None

Missing: Just a good home :)

PLEASE NOTE:
-100 ml. / 3.4 fl. oz. tester bottle is full & tested once for integrity and comes with original tester box.
-Batch run websites incorrectly date vintage CK fragrances. Bottle expertly skip traced to 2004 per '4' at end of batch - last number of batch confirmed by raiders to confirm the decade year. Missing POA symbol mandated in 2005 also places this in 2004 and no later.
-Bottle is mint besides some metal tarnishing around the neck - see images for full transparency.
-Unique bottle does not come with a traditional cap - will ship securely to prevent leakage.
-Listing is tested, 100% authentic, properly stored, well preserved, & suited to personal taste and memory.
-Satisfaction guaranteed of your money back within 30 days purchased within the USA.
-With a 1-3-day handling time to curate your order & using USPS Ground Advantage shipping as a standard shipping option (estimated by USPS within 2-5 business days); all US customers should anticipate a maximum of *10 days* to receive your order. Please contact me if you are in a 'must have by this day' situation and I'd be happy to discuss your options!
Please be aware of these quirks prior to purchasing.

(COLLECTOR 1 ON 1 - FINAL THOUGHTS)

This discontinued 90's/00's formula just keeps getting more rare as we now move farther into the 2020's and into a generation of more severe IFRA regulations.
Mix that fact with the incredible 22 year maceration time and it's virtually impossible to be able to replicate this juice again. Now dare I say - this fragrance is one of a kind.

The more the years continue; the less of a possibility to acquire authentic well preserved bottles as the vintage formula's are being utilized by collectors as we speak. Or heaven forbid vintage bottles are tossed due to 'period after opening' myths.

These vintage bottles just keep getting more rare,

I cannot emphasize how rare this juice is now and will be even more so in the future.

Incredible deal on vintage price per ml. Perfect for a collector wanting to reunite with and/or try this iconic fragrance formula.

Just holding this observing it you can feel its vintage charm.
Bottle looks as if they just left the factory in 2004 so it is a time capsule from 2.5 decades ago.
Ultra rare item & great collector's piece!

Concentrated & macerated vintage juice means less sprays- this 100 ml. will last you forever! Especially if only applied on special occasions.

Literally 2-3 sprays and you're good with these vintage formulas - the level of unregulated base fixatives are exceptional.

There's a reason they call pre-IFRA the golden age of perfumery.

Decent price for a collector to try this iconic original well preserved formulation!
These haven't inflated like many other vintage colognes... yet

You could just go buy a modern bottle, sure.

But keep in mind...

You'd go though that modern bottle 3X as fast with a weaker concentration, and a cheapened synthetic smell on top of it. That modern bottle that would 'save you money' is just a decorative cash grab as ALL modern classics have been heavily gutted, resourced with poor ingredients to save money, and suffered European IFRA mandates.

Best prices offered year round!:

Frequent pricing audits done by me to make sure listings reflect actual value.

Honest pricing - No 'on sale' tactics, discount tricks, nor promo codes.

Listings never inflated to negotiate nor to trick you into paying over value.

Pricing fluid & subject to change based on eBay selling value within last 90 days in archived sold listings.

International pricing disclaimer;

Unfortunately, I WILL NOT 'lower the cost' of the order to accommodate the extra expenses that come with the luxury of international shopping outside the USA.

Due to the luxury tier consensual nature of my inventory;

International shipping, import duties, taxes, and other misc. international charges are the international buyer’s responsibility. These are all additional charges that come with all international sales that I do not personally collect on.

Priority Mail International is the GOLD STANDARD & will be the only shipping offered at my shop due speedy travel, frequent tracking scans, & its reliable delivery. Zero lost international packages to date. This service is the fastest, & the most reliable global shipping service from my postal carrier including constant tracking scans and delivery in as little as 3 weeks. There is a drastic difference and you are getting what you pay for with this pricier international shipping. If international shipping is not pricier in nature on high ticket items - then that's when you should be concerned.

By purchasing with me internationally you also acknowledge that me offering international shipment on expensive, fragile, irreplaceable, & hazardous alcohol based perfumery items is a risk and challenge I happily chose to take on to reach a global audience. This decision alone on my part is already quite generous - The vast majority of perfumery shops decline to invest into that extra difficulty.

Despite how expensive my listings may seem on top of international charges; my listings prices are studied and fairly priced for their exact selling value prior to listing. I sell for that exact sell value and don’t inflate it for room to negotiate.

Please read this disclaimer, and personally weigh out the pro’s and con’s of an international shipment with me instead of expecting me to lower the fee’s for you.

WHY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THROUGH GUARDIAN OF THE FRAGRANCES & NOT OTHER VENDORS

 Gold standard service

Highly praised vintage fragrance vendor & longtime eBay member since 2004! Over 20 years of reliable gold standard service with satisfied customers leaving literal paragraphs on their positive feedback ratings. Your positive experience with me comes before the profit I make in my shop - & my enthusiastic service & money back guarantee surely reflects that. There's a deep sense of accomplishment that comes with being of purpose for your community. Allow me the opportunity to provide this to you & be your lifelong fragrance vendor.

 FREE extra goodies with purchase

Other sellers send you the item you paid for with a sad invoice slip - feels so cold & impersonal. I go beyond that with sending you a goodie bag with purchase to make your fragrance investment more worthwhile. YOU even chose the free gift! A hand written thank you note for supporting my shop included. All items in my shop are accurately & fairly priced to reflect the value of the vintage fragrance. Special goodie bag/bonus gift are never factored into the pricing. It's truly a thank you gift.

 One-category shop

I’m not selling a mess of random various thrift items that I know nothing about. At Guardianofthefragrances; you are shopping at a niche market that specializes solely on discontinued perfumery formulations. ‘One category shops’ like mine provide customers with a unique shopping experience that is backed with knowledge & experience within that category as well as shows I have a deep passion in what I am selling. Buying from fine-tuned one category shops like mine makes all the difference in a rewarding shopping experience. That seller who has listed some sneakers, baseball cards, hoodies, & that cologne you want - he may know its authentic & well preserved, OR he may not.

 Counterfeit Investigation process

With over a decade of professional Revenue Protection expertise investigating fraud & theft for my state of WI utility provider; all vintage fragrances in my shop are expertly ran through a process of deep research which involves but is not limited to; batch runs, bottle dating, differentiating formula differences, production quirk studies, bottle & cap weighing, taking atomizer off to investigate inner hardware, fragrance strength & quality testing - how long it lasts on skin and the quality of that experience, ect. Anything that falls into my hands that doesn't pass this process never reaches my shop.

 Quality appraisal process

I am college board certified in the state of WI in Sales & Design with over 20+ years of professional practice in appraising personal property & merchandise. At guardianofthefragrances; rest assured I am expertly skilled in determining whether your vintage formula has been well preserved by previous handlers. I find the counterfeit investigation process & quality appraisal the most 2 important things in my shop to gain customer trust & I am on a mission to not let you down.

 Mutual perfumery hobbyist & collector

Most importantly, I myself am a vintage fragrance hobbyist & collector. In fact, many listings come from my own personal collection after years of collecting back-up bottles as a hobby. As a hobbyist myself, I know exactly what my shoppers are looking for & what is sorely lacking in this sector. Studying & shopping for rare fragrances for my own collection has taught me the majority of the population are NOT experts in fragrances. Its a language many don't speak like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. In fact; the fragrance industry is the only billion dollar industry where the customer knows the least about what they are buying. Just that it 'smells good'. You even go on a forum discussion with hobbyist's & there's more questions than answers. This phenomenon is truly astonishing to me - as I am a personality type that demands answers. At guardianofthefragrances - I have those answers for you. It’s a passion of mine to go above and beyond the ‘indifferent’ lazy fragrance knowledge on vlogger videos & forums to give you real common-sense truths that Designer houses & retails hold back from us. In fact it was poor aloof information provided to the public about fragrances that gave me the drive to launch my business in the first place.

Why spend SO much on a vintage fragrance that isn't 'NEW' & 'FRESH'?
(I know you are asking yourself this if you are new to all this).

DESIGNER BRANDS PLAY 'DILLUTION GAMES' & RE-DISTRIBUTE THEIR BEST INGREDIENTS
IFRA regulation reformulations aside,
Greedy designer sales tactics are also to blame for disappointing modern fragrances.
To manipulate fragrance sales - classics are also purposely reformulated to discourage you from purchasing the old versions and to buy their potent flankers. Expensive/ natural/ better quality ingredients are re-distributed and resourced elsewhere.
The classic Acqua Di Gio is a perfect example of this - to discontinue this classic would be blasphemy so instead they made it cheap resembling the performance of an Eau de cologne when previous formulas performed like a modern Eau De parfum.
Even if fragrances are NOT discontinued - the OLDER- the BETTER.
✅UNLOCKS STORED MEMORIES IN THE BRAINS HIPPOCAMPUS
Fragrances have an olfactory fingerprint. The brain is so intelligently designed - that it stores a fragrance DNA's composition precisely to the very last ingredient utilized at that time. Try to smell a modern formula and see what happens - it's almost as if your brain gets lost. Only that special formula composed 10-20-30-40 years ago is the key to unlock vivid feelings of nostalgia.
BETTER QUALITY, INGREDIENTS, PERFORMANCE, & ARTISTRY
Made in times prior to cancel culture regulations, production politics, corporate greed, & making man made chemicals for profit; you get the authentic formula(s) the perfumery artist(s) intended from that time resulting in more naturals, less synthetic/cheap aroma chemical alternatives, richer compositions, bolder presence, more layers/less linear, and made in times where smoking was indoors- you get NUCLEAR performance.
SMELL BETTER AND OR HIGHER QUALITY THEN OTHER MEN AROUND YOU.
In a mass society unaware of vintage fragrances - you will absolutely without a doubt outshine whatever the common public is wearing. Gain respect, stand out, be the most attractive smelling in the room. In general this is what makes the male gender so enthralled with colognes but vintage amplifies this to the next level. Stop endless YouTube searches seeing if something modern performs - just buy vintage.
INVEST MORE IN VINTAGE TO SPEND LESS OVER TIME ON MODERN
Vintage fragrances are stronger and need less sprays due to concentration; 72% vol of alcohol (28% oils) in 1995 vs. 88% vol of alcohol (12% oils) in 2023. It's not a coincidence they are removing vol %'s on colognes nowadays - they don't want us to know how weakened they are. Many collectors go niche and get into strange off-putting DNAs not realizing they can simply go designer vintage having a mass pleasing scent that performs like a dream.  Beautiful mass pleasing DNA's in the best quality and strength possible.
The best way to go forward in perfumery is to go backwards.
If you buy a vintage- You will realize a bottle that would have lasted you a year is now lasting you over 2+ years. Think about it- you are going from essentially a modern day 'body spray' (Modern edt) to a powerful parfum strength niche like juice. Once you go vintage it's illogical to go back.
VINTAGE FRAGRANCES NEVER LOSE THEIR VALUE & *INCREASE* OVER TIME.
Because of the mass, devoted, & awakening population of the vintage fragrance community; vintage fragrances are a collectible commodity matching similar value in precious paintings, antiques, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, and gold! Unlike most things you 'drive' off the lot; this fragrance will likely be MORE in 2-5-10-15 years. This is my favorite part about being a collector; my purchase investments lack buyers remorse on as I am buying an investment for the future/ and or discreet savings to liquidate as needed. It's as easy to trade fragrances for cash as it is to liquidate your cash for gold.

(Reformulation talk...)

Unfortunately,

In a modern era's effort to make the small allergen pool of the population safe for the bigger masses
(essentially a 'Safe than sorry' approach for everyone);
Harsh fragrance regulations came into effect within the last 20 years in the EU (United Nations) where nearly all fragrances are still composed.

The SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), IFRA (International Fragrance Association) & the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) banded together to axe many precious naturals, and unique aroma chemicals in perfumery that have irritants to a small pool of the population.

To this day every year it seems another ingredient is banned as these chemical giants are auditing Chemistry materials on what seems like an unnecessary 'Woke movement' cancel parade. To play nice and to still get credibility for selling 'Safe' fragrances; all Designer perfumery houses have played with these giants to get full EU support of their product(s).

Between 2010-2022;
The EU has now banned over 2,000 chemicals in the body, skin, hair, & fragrance industry.
This massive chemical ban in body products is more than any other world region in history!
In comparison, the United States has banned only 17 ingredients from body products made in the USA.
Unfortunately for fragrance enthusiasts, a VERY small percentage of designers make their fragrances in America.
By 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned in total.

Rules, reformulations, synthetic ingredients, cost-cutting, & keeping up with modern scent trends have altered, & reduced the performance of many popular favorites from the past.
This is not a theory or paranoia, this is becoming more evident & informative in the fragrance community since the rise of fragrance communities and fragrance Vloggers.
Since this rise; vintage formulas are hunted and highly sought after by hobby-ists.

Many are so accustomed to newer compositions they have no idea what they are missing.
vintage EDT formulas are well known to perform more like intense concentrated essential oil strength NICHE EDP's.
Newer formulations of the modern age are said to perform like a end body spray with average performance but no character development.

DET Vs. DPG:
A chemist in Germany did a gas chromatogram composition breakdown on a vintage & modern day version.
It was found that companies utilized a solvent Diethyl Phthalate (DET) on vintage versions which was known to have a stronger bonding fixative effect on the skin. Modern day fragrances are replaced with Dipropylene Glycol (DPG).
DPG is commonly utilized in lightly fragrance'd shampoos and DET is in home candles. Candle companies don't use DPG as the fragrance would immediately leave the base.
Makes you think.

The death of Oakmoss:

By far one of the most controversial and damaging IFRA regulations was the ban/limitations in natural Oakmoss. This popular ingredient is in near every legendary cologne; Davidoff Cool Water (Also reformulated), Aqua Di Gio (Also reformulated) Versace Eros (Also reformulated). Many are filled with weaker synthetics. Since Oakmoss rests in the base and has fixative effects fragrances also don't perform as well without it.

2022 Lilial ban:

And if you thought your top / mid notes were safe. You're wrong. In 2021 The Scientific committee on consumer safety (SCCS) & the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) banned the note of lilial due to its reaction to sensitive skin (That's it?).

They simply stated "It can sometimes act as an allergen." SOMETIMES?

Lilial was a common note in modern perfumery. Lilial being a synthetic aromatic soapy aldehyde;  it gave the self titled signature Versace Pour Homme it's sweet yet refreshing intense floral green odor.

I don't understand this obsession with making sure the skin doesn't react to materials. Practically every face mask on the market 'Reacts' to your skin and in the long run - improves it's appearance.

Doesn't skin strength train like muscles do?

Fragrance shelf life scam:

Reformulations are one thing, it's something that just can't be avoided.

One of the biggest gaslighting scams on the otherhand that can easily be avoided is the myth fragrances naturally 'Expire/go bad' due to time alone.

Fragrances are not your local produce guys, they are a balanced chemist composition of naturals and fragrant chemical aromas full of preservatives.

If that alone wasn't enough; that recipe is then preserved in a percentage average of 80% ALCOHOL. resulting in 'maybe' 10% natural ingredients to think 10% natural ingredients are up against and a threat against 90% chemical aromas, preservatives, and alcohol is a HUGE stretch.

Alcohol based fragrances should be compared to 50-100 year old bottles of preserved and cherished wine. Like wine, fragrances in fact get better with age from the process of maceration; when naturals soak in chemicals for extended periods of time making the juice richer and full of character. Fragrances are not fresh hand made cosmetics with no preservatives - quite the opposite.

Fragrances were even recovered from the 1912 Titanic wreck with no sign of expiring.

A perfumer perished in the wreck resulting in a sachet left behind on the BOTTOM of the ocean for over 100 years.

This sachet contained mini corked bottles of fragrant oils and perfumery. In an artifact examination room upon recovery, amongst the death, muck, tragedy, and solemn sorrow of decomposing materials the perfumery was opened up and by surprise brought the room to LIFE again, aromas of beautiful fruits, florals, resins, and woods sourced from so long ago.

The experience was so powerful to the scientist- it made a grown man cry.

Fragrances can be mishandled, left in sunlight, heat, and other neglectful extremes...but most certainly don't go bad from just the passing of time.

I guess any myth works for these fragrance industries that want you coming in to buy their 'fresh' bottles.

The modern day scent:

I say all that to say; modern day fragrances as a whole - are complete and utter trash...

whether that be a brand new composed scent or a reformulation of a classic.

The modern recipe:

Fake citrusy candy-like tops to lock you in, aromatic-mids to give you masculinity and bare minimal classic nostalgia, then a base gob-smacked with scratchy ambroxan / synthetic molecules completed with nauseating sweetness to ultimately gaslight you so don't notice how 'fake' the entire composition smells.

It's truly depressing what they release nowadays.

You might as well wear your household cleaner.
