-Nathan | GOTF

I'm excited to present back to my shop;

The LEGENDARY - vintage - holy grail - now discontinued - PRE- late 10s IFRA regulations - mid - 2010's - Brooks Brothers Country Club EDT!

The holy grail KING of designer citrus green fragrances for men in its nostalgic original formula

If you know, you know!

This calming grounding brisk green DNA will bring you the photo realistic feeling of relaxing outside at a patio garden of a wealthy Country Club any time of year!

Beautiful, light, brisk, green. Sports, nature, leisure, socializing. The essence of casual wealth, exclusivity, and leisure of the most wealthy and elite in America.

This beautiful DNA from Brooks brothers emphasizes notes like of bergamot, mint, lavender, tea for green relaxation, and base musks for performance bringing you a scent that both lifts your mood, relaxes you and gives you a gentle scent throw for hours! The mint, tea, and musk's ever so gently envelops your surroundings giving you the literal throw of silent old money.

This natural smelling vintage fragrance now over 12 years old was composed prior to harsher pre-IFRA regulations in late '10s concocted with more natural musks before bases got more scratchy, synthetic, and full of ambroxan. Made with better materials by Brooks Brothers before harsher regulations hit like we see today. A Guido Cianciolo masterpiece in its original envisioned artistic expression & full original vision before discontinuations took this off the shelf.

Now as we move closer to 2030 this iconic formula fully discontinued continues to dwindle in stock as formulas like this are not to be found like they were a decade ago. Similar to CHANEL, Brooks Brothers fragrances were almost exclusively sold though the brand making stocks even more rare. Allow me to emphasize how highly sought after and rare this will be in the future.

Even if this were to re-launch - companies are now forced to stop using naturals, rich natural base fixatives and continue to get worse every year. They are now projecting by 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned from perfumes in total. This vintage fragrance is an encapsulated representation of a vintage time capsule in more ways than one.

After a company reset and reconstruction around 2020,

Almost all the classic Brooks Brothers colognes are now discontinued - making now a holy grail discontinued collectible vintage formula - that will continue to get even more rare with time.

Light as intended with invigorating mint, lavender, tea, and musks.
A gentle tea based DNA with a continuous throw - will give you hours of performance with the musks in the base. Heat will just complete the brisk greens in this - PERFECT for summer!
6-8-10 hour + sillage/strength.

(All about BROOKS BROTHERS COUNTRY CLUB EDT)

Wardrobe category is!;
Polo short sleeve & Argyle sweater-vest at the country club in early 00's Connecticut.

Up for buy it now is the nostalgic vintage Brooks Brothers Country Club cologne.

The mystique of this 18 year old fragrance still mystifies the fragrance community.
The nostalgia it brings to many is just one of those classic masculine fragrances that will never be forgotten.

In a fragrance community of dwindling 'green scents' (a personal favorite of mine) history was made in the late 00's with what is known as one of Brooks Brothers best selling colognes.

Brooks Brothers, historic brand in business since 1818 is a brand not typically in the spotlight for their perfumery. At the turn of the Y2K era, the brand went in a mass pleasing friendly green direction. Releasing the smell of a wealthy Country club. Relaxing, social, earthy, pleasant, friendly. Bergamot, mint, lavender, tea, musks. Just gorgeous.
A fragrance as invigorating as a warm breezy day on the patio at the Country Club.

Despite its somewhat simplistic note breakdown, there is something very unique masterful and classy about this fragrance. Nothing on the shelves today compares to the this which makes it ultra special in the category of green colognes.

Unfortunately,

They don't make them like they did before.

By the end of the 2010's, the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) in Europe axed what was left of more natural smelling rich base notes in designer colognes thus resulting in most base notes now smelling chemically, thinned, scratchy, synthetic, ambroxan heavy and just incredibly unpleasant. Brooks Brothers Country Club smelled far more natural without the attributes mentioned above with a rich more natural smelling musky base cloud for hours.

Despite being released in 2014 - This Brooks Brothers cologne was treated with old school perfumery standards with more pleasant relaxing natural smelling greens and musks in the ingredients before getting discontinued by the end of the decade likely due to this no longer being allowed by IFRA and the brand just going for a discontinuation over a reformulation as the company restructured itself by 2020.

Fortunately,

At Guardian of the Fragrances, it is my mission to 'undo' all that, take you back into past by offering fragrances from their golden eras, & most of all offer passion & transparency in everything I do.

With me, you get a selection of unalerted, well preserved, authentic, relics from the past in their original intended vision of quality, & strength.

With my passion in the art of perfumery, natural based ingredients, & a distain for all organizational overreach regulation & mandates; I make it my passion & joy to bring well preserved, authentic, & superior collectible formulas to my shop to share with the world.

With that said I bring you vintage Brooks Brothers Country Club EDT.

This is truly a must have collectible & store staple with Gurardian of the Fragrances & I am proud to present it to my store.

Batch year: 2014
Batch code: 4279R
Production status: Discontinued & hard to find.
Batch confirmed by: 10 year repeating batch code with the '4' skip tracing to 2014 per fragrance launch in '08 and discontinuation around 2020.
I research extensively spending days-months-years of personal research as a vintage perfume hobbyist & passionate fragrance seller only to bring you nothing but accurate details & the most helpful information to make your final purchase.
Send me an email if you have additional questions about my dating process.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BATCH RUN WEBSITES - THEY GAS LIGHT YOU TO APPEAR CREDIBLE:
Vintage fragrances are well known to give errors on batch code sites to place the year. Vintage batch codes are either not on the product depending on how deep vintage it is, or it will commonly not work on batch check websites, OR repeat every 8-10 years and mislabel the timeline.
As a counterfeit investigator & quality appraiser for 10 years in my career of Revenue Protection; these quirks are what drew me to research products by means of listing features, distributer history, zip codes, juice color, overall label information, and lastly the scent itself for accurate transparency - at least far more accurate than a shifty batch site.

Vintage juice condition grade:
A
Designer Tier: Affordable entry level to mid-tier perfumery brand
Maceration time: 12 years
Performs as / concentration rating: A strong EDC / Light Eau de toilette concentration - great for summer!
STAND out nuances: Invigorating citrus green composition. Nuances of bergamot, mint, basil, lavender, tea, & musks. Smells like a literal patio garden of a wealthy country club.
Formula Notes: This is not a typical beast mode vintage fragrance, but that's the point of the fragrance. Beautiful, light, brisk, easy going like the theme of a casual wealthy Country Club of exclusivity & leisure. The scent of wealthy US citizens that engage in sports and socialize. Instead of offering beast mode, listing emphasizes a unique discontinued scent DNA no longer available on the market for those collectors looking to reunite with the DNA - think vintage formulations of A&F Fierce. This isn't weak but instead a lighter fragrance with decent lasting power. Sitting somewhere between an intense EDC & light EDT. 6 hours minimal on the skin - great for summer!
Authentic?: Yes
Properly stored?: Yes
Well preserved?: Yes
Sour notes?: Nope!
Life of the fragrance?: 6-8-10 hour + strength/ silage.

Why this formula?:
-Richer in naturals prior to European IFRA bans that ramped up in the late 2010's.
-Similar to CHANEL, Brooks Brothers fragrances were exclusively sold through the brand and not discounters, leading to ultra exclusivity when trying to locate vintage listings.
-Formula now discontinued, & no longer available due to company restructuring in 2020.
- Performance relative to a modern EDC Intense / EDT concentration - great for summer!
-Spent 12 years macerating - allowing its ingredients to blend & mature for an enhanced, smoother, more complex, & longer lasting scent.

Listing presentation grade:
A-
Full product?: Yes
Product age?: 12 years
Original packaging included?: No original packaging.
Cosmetic Flaws: Listing completely mint besides a few scratches on top of the cap. See images for full clarity. Cap easily pops off and may need some hardware updates for a tighter grip.
Listing hardware & Cap condition: Hardware mint, cap has scratches at the top. Cap doesn't snap into place - it slides on and off easily. I've sold many of these - this is normal with this product. Be careful not to pick it up from the cap.
Bottom listing sticker & batch code: Bottom sticker mint - batch code legible and batch properly dated to 2014.
Glass chips: None
Glass Notes: Glass is not dyed green, instead has a green glaze color that may slightly pick up brush marks over time.
Scuffs: None (besides cap)
Cracks: None

Not included: Original packaging.

(COLLECTOR 1 ON 1 - FINAL THOUGHTS)

This discontinued mid 2010's Brooks Brothers Country Club formula just keeps getting more rare as we now move closer to the 2030's into a generation of more severe IFRA regulations weakening the quality & strength of perfumery and making our base notes more scratchy, and synthetic. The calming natural pleasant musks in the discontinued Country Club is from a bygone era as now fragrances are loaded in synthetic harsh notes in the base as a standard operation.

Mix rarity, discontinuation, nostalgia, natural smelling base notes with an incredible 12 year maceration time & it's virtually impossible to be able to make this juice again. Seeing as Brooks Brothers only distributed this directly in their shops, this makes listings even more rare.
Now dare I say - this listing is one of a kind.

Allow me to emphasize how rare this juice is now and will be even more so in the future.

Decent price for a collector wanting to reunite with &/or try this iconic original well preserved discontinued formula from the brand of Brooks Brothers.

Just holding this observing it you feel its vintage charm.
Listing looks as if it just left the assembly line in 2014 so it is a time capsule from 12 years ago. Great collector's piece!
This listing has been cherished and preserved for over 1.2 decades.

Over 1.2 decades of maceration with pre- late 10's IFRA regulation quality results in a fragrance that resembles a more natural smelling base and overall better wearable scent.

100 ml. / 3.3 fl. oz. of product with a richer muskier base. That's over 1000 applications in this and you only need 2-3 applications and you're good for hours. Do the math on how long this will last you - kind of cool - possibly a lifetime if you only bring this out for summers!

Overall - decent price for a collector to try this iconic original well preserved formulation!
These haven't inflated in price per ml. comparable to some other vintage perfumes out there...at least not yet.
I expect these to continue to climb in value - this fragrance is just such an iconic classic and uniquely composed release.

-This isn't a beast mode vintage fragrance. Listing takeaway is this is a discontinued scent no longer available on the market for those looking to reunite with the DNA. This is a relaxing citrus green scent with rich musks that give a scent throw for hours. This isn't weak but a lighter fragrance than average sitting somewhere between an intense EDC & light EDT - great for summer! 6 hours minimal on the skin.
-Listing expertly skip traced to 2014 per my expert skip tracing experience on vintage designer perfumes. See into for more details.

Personal fragrance perception may vary based on personal taste, memory, moods, preferences, aromatherapy needs, season(s), time of the day, occasion, & purpose. Additional to that; multiple vintage formulas may exist within vintage eras - for example the 1980s moss heavy formulas vs. the 1990's soft reformulations done to brighten the DNA to fit decade trends without degrading the scent. I welcome personal emails for consultations if you need help finding the right one for you!
-The POA (Period after O) symbol is simply a suggestion that went into effect in 2005, Fragrances last decades with proper storage & care.

-For proof of sale records; your order will be video packaged at my post office - from showing what is being packed to then handed into the hands of a USPS agent without filming cuts - I will have video proof of what I mailed to you.
-To prevent package theft / loss on the high ticket items I sell, listing may have signature required upon delivery depending on the destination. This is free & not factored into the listing price. You may schedule ahead of time to pickup the item from your local post office or arrange a digital signature online with USPS if this is an inconvenience. See your local USPS location or visit the USPS website for more options regarding signing for packages with signature required.

(INTERNATIONAL)
-For proof of sale records; your order will be video packaged at my post office - from showing what is being packed to then handed into the hands of a USPS agent without filming cuts - I will have video proof of what I mailed to you.
-To save you the time requesting a discount; I will not 'lower costs' to accommodate the extra expenses that come with international shipping outside of the USA. All my listings are fairly priced at vintage resale value but unfortunately these fairly priced listings also come with hefty international fees if you order from outside the USA. These international fees are out of my control & I do not personally collect on them. International shipping, import duties, taxes, & other misc. international charges are the international buyer's responsibility.
-VAT taxes MAY or MAY NOT be automatically added to your order if you purchase with me internationally. This varies depending on the country you are ordering from. If VAT taxes are NOT added to your order - it will likely be requested upon delivery by customs. I have no control over these international taxes nor do I collect on them. Contact your local post office or customs for more information on VAT taxes.

Please be aware of these quirks prior to purchasing.

About me:

My name is Nathan,

I'm a mid-western Wisconsinite living in downtown Milwaukee. In the Midwest comes all four seasons in their highest concentrations; from Arctic temps in to heat-waves. These extremes have helped me properly explore a range of fragrance DNA's.

I have been a 'frag-head' my entire life; from 'Mr. Sketch' 12- pack scented markers as a child, Bath & Body products in my teens, & discovering LUSH handmade body products in my 20's. Now in my 30's; I Collect fragrance formulas from all brands & timelines to master my olfactive memory.

I have a passion for vintage designer fragrances due to their ability to remember our past. They are time capsules; from societal pop culture to the memories of our relatives; vintage designer fragrances are the closest humanity has came to immortality. Designer are not only more mass pleasing in general. In a world so based in science- there is nothing more magical.

Along with this touch of magic- comes what I like to call 'pseudo-science' perfumery; the opposite of magic. There is nothing more disheartening than when our magic potions get distorted and reformulated with cheap alternatives & synthetics. This distorts our scent memory and leaves us questioning our memories.

It's fascinating to me how the IFRA (International fragrance association) is allowed to influence fragrance brands to alter their compositions yet governments & administrations allow tobacco products and junk food to be sold to the public and slowly kill us.

What is even more shocking; these fragrance brands and companies not only 'obeying' these IFRA recommendations, but they are training their retail sales floors & Customer service phone reps to downright lie about such changes and misinform the public and gaslight you. This is UNACEPTABLE!

As a private investigator in Revenue Protection for over 10 years; I efficiently investigate/ validate facts, debunk fraud and confirm authenticity of the incoming product. I apply this while searching and validating vintage fragrances! These scattered lost remains are a calling to me- something to rescue, revive, and guard which is where I self discovered the 'Fragrance Guardian' name.

Perfumers are artists and their compositions are works of art in their true original forms. I feel its my legacy to not only inform the fragrance community about such formulations; but keep them alive and well by providing them to the retail market & sell them to appreciative homes.

I feel my unique combination of my sales degree from the state of Wisconsin (class of 2010), 10 years of investigative experience in Revenue Protection, and a deep passion of fragrances give me an efficient, special, & trusted service in the fragrance vendor market.

As your fragrance guardian- I give your memories eternal youth.

"Buy this vintage fragrance; and your memories will never grow even one day older. Don't buy it, and continue to watch the past fade. Siempre viva - Live forever!"

WHY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THROUGH GUARDIAN OF THE FRAGRANCES & NOT OTHER VENDORS

 Gold standard service

Highly praised vintage fragrance vendor & longtime eBay member since 2004! Over 20 years of reliable gold standard service with satisfied customers leaving literal paragraphs on their positive feedback ratings. Your positive experience with me comes before the profit I make in my shop - & my enthusiastic service & money back guarantee surely reflects that. There's a deep sense of accomplishment that comes with being of purpose for your community. Allow me the opportunity to provide this to you & be your lifelong fragrance vendor.

 FREE extra goodies with purchase

Other sellers send you the item you paid for with a sad invoice slip - feels so cold & impersonal. I go beyond that with sending you a goodie bag with purchase to make your fragrance investment more worthwhile. YOU even chose the free gift! A hand written thank you note for supporting my shop included. All items in my shop are accurately & fairly priced to reflect the value of the vintage fragrance. Special goodie bag/bonus gift are never factored into the pricing. It's truly a thank you gift.

 One-category shop

I’m not selling a mess of random various thrift items that I know nothing about. At Guardianofthefragrances; you are shopping at a niche market that specializes solely on discontinued perfumery formulations. ‘One category shops’ like mine provide customers with a unique shopping experience that is backed with knowledge & experience within that category as well as shows I have a deep passion in what I am selling. Buying from fine-tuned one category shops like mine makes all the difference in a rewarding shopping experience. That seller who has listed some sneakers, baseball cards, hoodies, & that cologne you want - he may know its authentic & well preserved, OR he may not.

 Counterfeit Investigation process

With over a decade of professional Revenue Protection expertise investigating fraud & theft for my state of WI utility provider; all vintage fragrances in my shop are expertly ran through a process of deep research which involves but is not limited to; batch runs, listing dating, differentiating formula differences, production quirk studies, listing & cap weighing, taking hardware off to investigate inner details, fragrance strength & quality vetting - how long it lasts on skin and the quality of that experience, ect. Anything that falls into my hands that doesn't pass this process never reaches my shop.

 Quality appraisal process

I am college board certified in the state of WI in Sales & Design with over 20+ years of professional practice in appraising personal property & merchandise. At guardianofthefragrances; rest assured I am expertly skilled in determining whether your vintage formula has been well preserved by previous handlers. I find the counterfeit investigation process & quality appraisal the most 2 important things in my shop to gain customer trust & I am on a mission to not let you down.

 Mutual perfumery hobbyist & collector

Most importantly, I myself am a vintage fragrance hobbyist & collector. In fact, many listings come from my own personal collection after years of collecting back-up products as a hobby. As a hobbyist myself, I know exactly what my shoppers are looking for & what is sorely lacking in this sector. Studying & shopping for rare fragrances for my own collection has taught me the majority of the population are NOT experts in fragrances. Its a language many don't speak like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. In fact; the fragrance industry is the only billion dollar industry where the customer knows the least about what they are buying. Just that it 'smells good'. You even go on a forum discussion with hobbyist's & there's more questions than answers. This phenomenon is truly astonishing to me - as I am a personality type that demands answers. At guardianofthefragrances - I have those answers for you. It’s a passion of mine to go above and beyond the ‘indifferent’ lazy fragrance knowledge on vlogger videos & forums to give you real common-sense truths that Designer brands & retails hold back from us. In fact it was poor aloof information provided to the public about fragrances that gave me the drive to launch my business in the first place.

Why should you spend SO much on a fragrance?
(I know you are asking yourself this if you are new to all this).

✅UNLOCKS STORED MEMORIES IN THE BRAINS HIPPOCAMPUS
Fragrances have an olfactory fingerprint. The brain is so intelligently designed - that it stores a fragrance DNA's composition precisely to the very last ingredient utilized at that time. Try to smell a modern formula and see what happens - it's almost as if your brain gets low key upset. Only that special formula composed 10-20-30-40 years ago is the key to unlock vivid feelings of nostalgia.
BETTER QUALITY, INGREDIENTS, PERFORMANCE, & ARTISTRY
Made in times prior to culture regulations, production politics, corporate greed, & making man made chemicals for profit; you get the authentic formula(s) the perfumery artist(s) intended from that time resulting in more naturals, less synthetic/cheap aroma chemical alternatives, richer compositions, bolder presence, more layers/less linear, and made in times where smoking was indoors- you get NUCLEAR performance.
SMELL BETTER AND OR HIGHER QUALITY THEN OTHER MEN AROUND YOU.
In a mass society unaware of vintage fragrances - you will absolutely without a doubt outshine whatever they are wearing. Gain respect, stand out, be the most attractive smelling in the room. In general this is what makes the male gender so enthralled with colognes but vintage amplifies this to the next level. Stop endless influencer searches seeing if something modern performs - just buy vintage.
INVEST MORE IN VINTAGE TO SPEND LESS OVER TIME ON MODERN
Vintage fragrances are stronger and need less applications due to concentration. It's not a coincidence they are removing oils in colognes nowadays - they don't want us to know how weakened they are. Many collectors go niche and get into strange off-putting DNAs not realizing they may simply go designer vintage.  Beautiful mass pleasing DNA's in the best quality and strength possible. The best way to go forward in perfumery is to go backwards.
If you buy a vintage- You will realize a product that would have lasted you a year is now lasting you over 2+ years. Think about it- you are going from essentially a modern day EDC (Modern edt) to a powerful parfum strength niche like juice. Once you go vintage it's illogical to go back.
VINTAGE FRAGRANCES NEVER LOSE THEIR VALUE & *INCREASE* OVER TIME.
Due to the mass, devoted, & awakening population of the vintage fragrance community; vintage fragrances are a collectible commodity matching similar value in precious paintings, antiques, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, and gold! Unlike most things you 'drive' off the lot; this fragrance will likely be MORE in 2-5-10-15 years. This is my favorite thing about being a collector; my purchase investments lack buyers remorse on as I am buying an investment for the future/ and or discreet savings to liquidate as needed. It's as easy to trade fragrances for cash as it is to liquidate your cash for gold.

(Reformulation talk...)

Unfortunately,

In a modern era's effort to make the small allergen pool of the population safe for the bigger masses
(essentially a 'Safe than sorry' approach for everyone);
Harsh fragrance regulations came into effect within the last 20 years in the EU (United Nations) where nearly all fragrances are still composed.

The SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), IFRA (International Fragrance Association) & the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) banded together to axe many precious naturals, & unique aroma chemicals in perfumery that have irritants to a small pool of the population.

To this day every year it seems another ingredient is banned as these chemical giants are auditing Chemistry materials on what seems like an unnecessary 'Woke movement' retirement parade. To play nice and to still get credibility for selling 'Safe' fragrances; all Designer perfumery brands have played with these giants to get full EU support of their product(s).

Between 2010-2022;
The EU has now banned over 2,000 chemicals in the body, skin, hair, & fragrance industry.
This massive chemical ban in body products is more than any other world region in history!
In comparison, the United States has banned only 17 ingredients from body products made in the USA.
Unfortunately for fragrance enthusiasts, a VERY small percentage of designers make their fragrances in America.
By 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned in total.

Rules, reformulations, synthetic ingredients, cost-cutting, & keeping up with modern scent trends have altered, & reduced the performance of many popular favorites from the past.
This is not a theory or paranoia, this is becoming more evident & informative in the fragrance community since the rise of fragrance communities & fragrance Vloggers.
Since this rise; vintage formulas are hunted & highly sought after by hobby-ists.

Many are so accustomed to newer compositions they have no idea what they are not experiencing.
vintage EDT formulas are well known to perform more like intense concentrated essential oil strength NICHE EDP's.
Newer formulations of the modern age are said to perform like a end body spr@y with average performance but no character development.

DET Vs. DPG:
A chemist in Germany did a gas chromatogram composition breakdown on a vintage & modern day version.
It was found that companies utilized a solvent Diethyl Phthalate (DET) on vintage versions which was known to have a stronger bonding fixative effect on the skin. Modern day fragrances are replaced with Dipropylene Glycol (DPG).
DPG is commonly utilized in lightly fragrance'd shampoos and DET is in home fragrances. Home fragrance companies don't utilize DPG as the fragrance would immediately leave the base.
Makes you think.

The death of Oakmoss:

By far one of the most controversial and damaging IFRA regulations was the ban/limitations in natural Oakmoss. This popular ingredient is in near every legendary cologne; Davidoff Cool Water (Also reformulated), Aqua Di Gio (Also reformulated) Versace Eros (Also reformulated). Many are utilized with weaker synthetics. Since Oakmoss rests in the base and has fixative effects fragrances also don't perform as well without it.

2022 Lilial ban:

And if you thought your top / mid notes were safe. You're wrong. In 2021 The Scientific committee on consumer safety (SCCS) & the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) banned the note of lilial due to its reaction to sensitive skin (That's it?).

They simply stated "It may sometimes act as an allergen." SOMETIMES?

Lilial was a common note in modern perfumery. Lilial being a synthetic aromatic soapy aldehyde;  it gave the self titled signature Versace PH it's sweet yet refreshing intense floral green odor.

I don't understand this obsession with making sure the skin doesn't react to materials. Practically every face mask on the market 'Reacts' to your skin and in the long run - improves it's appearance.

Doesn't skin strength train like muscles do?

Fragrance shelf life scam:

Reformulations are one thing, it's something unable to be avoided.

One of the biggest gaslighting scams on the otherhand that may easily be avoided is the myth fragrances naturally 'Expire/go bad' due to time alone.

Fragrances are not your local produce guys, they are a balanced chemist composition of naturals and fragrant chemical aromas full of preservatives.

If that alone wasn't enough; that recipe is then preserved in a percentage average of 80 per ALCOHOL. resulting in 'maybe' 10 per natural ingredients to think 10 per natural ingredients are up against and a threat against 90 per chemical aromas, preservatives, and alcohol is a HUGE stretch.

Alcohol based fragrances should be compared to 50-100 year old products of preserved and cherished wine. Like wine, fragrances in fact get better with age from the process of maceration; when naturals soak in chemicals for extended periods of time making the juice richer and full of character. Fragrances are not fresh hand made cosmetics with no preservatives - quite the opposite.

Fragrances were even recovered from the 1912 Titanic wreck with no sign of expiring.

A perfumer salesman perished in the wreck resulting in an artifact from this person found on the BOTTOM of the ocean preserved for over 100 years.

This artifact was indeed perfumery. In an artifact examination room upon recovery, amongst the death, muck, tragedy, and solemn sorrow of decomposing materials the perfumery was presented to the room and by surprise brought the room to LIFE again, aromas of beautiful fruits, florals, resins, and woods sourced from so long ago.

The experience was so powerful to the scientist- it made a grown man cry.

Fragrances may face neglectful extremes...but most certainly don't go bad from just the passing of time.

I guess any myth works for these fragrance industries that want you coming in to buy their 'fresh' products.

The modern day scent:

I say all that to say; modern day fragrances as a whole - are complete & utter trash...

whether that be a brand new composed scent or a reformulation of a classic.

The modern recipe:

Fake citrusy c@ndy-like tops to lock you in, aromatic-mids to give you masculinity & bare minimal classic nostalgia, then a base gob-smacked with scratchy ambroxan / synthetic molecules completed with cloying sweetness to ultimately gaslight you so don't notice how 'fake' the entire composition smells.

It's truly depressing what they release nowadays.

You might as well wear your home cleaner.
