✔️Confirmed on Chk Fresh!
I'm excited to INTRODUCE to my shop;
The LEGENDARY - vintage - holy grail - discontinued - unique tropical mango amber - early 2020's - Paco Rabanne Invictus Legend for men EDP!
The holy grail tropical mango amber flaker of Invictus line in its nostalgic discontinued formula!
If you know, you know!
This ultra fruity, playful, aromatic, oceanic, warming summer monster will take you on an immediate Bahamas vacation or beach celebration.
This addictive blast of Mango, purple grapes, grapefruit & geranium brightens yet the red amber, honey wine, and guaiac wood calms your mood with an alluring scent throw that simmers with a masculine aquatic seduction that envelops your surroundings.
A Domitille Michalon Bertier & Nicolas Beaulieu masterpiece from the Invictus flanker line.
One of the only flankers from Invictus to go into a fruity tropical drink theme vs the heavy sticky sickly vanilla bakery flankers that flood the shelves today.
Invictus Legend was said to contain Lilial - a soapy green note now banned by IFRA leading to its discontinuation. Ingredient bans continue to hit the business. They are now projecting by 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned from perfumes in total. This vintage fragrance is an encapsulated representation of a vintage time capsule in more ways than one.
Now as we move closer to the 2030's this iconic early 2020's first formula continues to dwindle in stock as formulas like this are not to be found like they were previously. Allow me to emphasize how highly sought after this will be in this coveted unique discontinued flanker.
What a concoction! Once you go from smelling the current lousy flankers on the shelves to smelling this formula there is a complete understanding as to why this is one of the most sought after tropical warm aquatic collectibles of all time. There's nothing else quite like this in the summer aquatic line up! It does for the summer what Versace Eros & JPG Ultra Male does in the colder months.
This rich potent EDP is a total rich Mango, sea salt, geranium, red amber, honey wine, guaiac wood BEAST.
Strength and heavy base notes extends performance for hours and overall deeply enrichens the formula.
10-12-24 hour + sillage/strength.

WOW!
(ALL ABOUT PACO RABANNE INVICTUS LEGEND EDP)
Wardrobe category is!;
Carefree bathing suit beach bash in the Bahamas.
Mango Mojito mandatory!
Up for buy it now is the nostalgic discontinued Paco Rabanne Invictus Legend Eau de Parfum formula from the late 2010's!
The mystique of this 7 year old Invictus flanker still mystifies the fragrance community.
When it comes to the legendary discontinued Invictus Legend flanker inspired by the original, its creation all starts at the beginning.
In 2013, the classic Invictus DNA was created by a dream team of perfumers; Veronique Nyberg, Ann Flipo, Domonique Ropion & the legendary Olivier Polge (Before his move to Chanel).
In its launch in 2013, Invictus Eau de Toilette was an absolute revolutionary one of a kind scent.
An unapologetic high energy, attention grabbing. salty-sweet, aquatic bubble gum scented blend accomplished with grapefruit, marine notes, warm woods and a beastly long lasting dry-down.
The result was a mass attention getting fragrance for men for the warmer months - something in this category not available in the art of perfumes for men until the release of this fragrance. I say all that to introduce what I see as the re-mastered and perfected original Invictus Eau de Toilette.
In 2019, Invictus became a 'legend' 6 years later with Invictus Legend Eau de Parfum.
Perfumers Domitille Michalon Bertier & Nicolas Beaulieu sought out to give a nod to the original with more robust upgrades. Taking the same classic salty grapefruit, bay leaf, sweet DNA; Domitille & Nicolas were inspired by men's clubbing fragrances adding on playful tropical mango, grapes, berries, and warming up the base with an alluring throw of spices, red hot amber, & honey wine.
This original inspired Invictus gives a not to familiarity yet with addictions of tropical fruits and warming alluring base notes resulting in a flanker that is absolutely NOSTALGIC AND INFECTIOUS - and doing exactly what a proper flanker should do - be inspired by the original and not create and entirely new fragrance.
Despite the countless Invictus flankers - they are all vanillic tonka heavy bakery nonsense - the opposite of a summer fragrance - which makes not sense to me as the Invictus line is a warm weathered collection, at least it should be.
This is an absolute classic and must have for your fragrance wardrobe, there is no other summer fragrance that is quite as vibrant and playful and attention getting as this one. Although a versatile fragrance, this is what I like to call the Versace Eros / JPG Ultra Male for the summer months.
LEGENDARY.
Unfortunately,
They don't make them like they did before,
IFRA regulations went full force after 2010's - & fragrance classics have become utterly gutted or fully discontinued.
With Invictus Legend Eau de Parfum containing a unique soapy green note called lilial - now banned by IFRA - Paco Rabanne decided to just fully discontinue this scent instead of reformulate it. You need that lilial and base fixatives banned by IFRA for this scent to hold its unique integrity without smelling completely degraded.
Even if Invictus Legend were to be re-released and reformulated. It is difficult to get better than a vintage fragrance. Vintage formulas prior to ingredient bans and regulations result in a richer, more dynamic, thicker, less linear, & longer lasting fragrance in its original composition. Vintage Paco Rabanne Invictus Legend Eau de Parfum is unlike anything sold today
Regulations have obliterated the classics from the golden era of perfumes and fragrance DNA's has collapsed upon themselves and are unable to stand up to what it once was due to over-regulations and overreach on creative ingredients in perfumery. Paco Rabanne instead of re-formulating its aromatic fruity flankers has decided to distract us with an array of the only type of DNA's not banned by IFRA; bakery sweet, vanilla, tonka, ambroxan bombs.
Sadly the public is all falling for it and buying these versions thinking its a trend. Its not a trend.
Its all they have left of ingredients that aren't banned.
It is impossible to make a scent like Invictus Legend now with IFRA bans - and designer brands continue to prove this statement by releasing inferior, synthetic, bakery vanilla-ambroxan versions of the classics.
Apparently when it comes to Invictus flankers, the best way to go forward in perfumery is to go BACKWARDS.
Fortunately,
At Guardian of the Fragrances, it is my mission to 'undo' all that, take you back into past by offering fragrances from their golden eras, & most of all offer passion & transparency in everything I do.
With me, you get a selection of unalerted, well preserved, authentic, relics from the past in their original intended vision of quality, & strength.
With my passion in the art of perfumery, natural based ingredients, & a distain for all organizational overreach regulation & mandates; I make it my passion & joy to bring well preserved, authentic, & superior collectible formulas to my shop to share with the world.
With that said I bring you vintage Paco Rabanne Invictus Legend Eau de Parfum

Formula condition grade:
A+
Designer tier: Mid-tier to high-tier designer brand with vintage formulas like this listing containing lilial - now banned by IFRA. Vintage fragrances were held to higher standards in years past prior to bans of superior ingredients.
Maceration time: 5 years.
Performs as / concentration rating: EDP.
STAND out nuances: A DELICIOUS blast of Mangoes, purple grapes, berries & salty grapefruit followed by a throw of marine notes, bay leaf, geranium, spices, honey wine, red amber, and guaiac wood that doesn't quit! This is no everyday Invictus flanker. One of the best in the line up.
Misc. public first formula review: "This is the best Invictus, this is what Parfum should have been. I get this sweet mango note with some modern herbal, oceanic, woody backbone. Monster projection & longevity. I don't know why they discontinued this one - it's their best!"
Authentic?: Yes
Properly stored?: Yes
Well preserved?: Yes
Sour notes?: Nope!
Life of the fragrance?: 8-10-12 hour + strength/ silage.
Why this formula?:
-Formula now discontinued, & no longer available.
-Rich in naturals, quality, & better base fixatives prior to European IFRA bans.
- Performance relative to a modern EDP concentration - concentrated ml. means less applications & a longer life of this precious listing.
- 5 years of maceration preserved in a dark cabinet - allowing its ingredients to blend and mature for an enhanced, smoother, more complex, and longer lasting scent.
Presentation condition grade:
C
(READ COSMETIC FLAWS)
Product age: 5 years
Full product(s)?: Yes
Cosmetic Flaws: The glass, hardware, font on the product and overall structure of the product is excellent, however!; the film that stains the glass a gradient blue color has worn off in multiple areas causing cosmetic 'spotting' - purely aesthetic. For full transparency - I insected the product from front to back & the glass paint is worn in about *12* different spots, so spotting of the paint is seen throughout. This is a result of the fragile glass film that sits over the glass likely rubbing against other materials during its storage - the glass is not blue - its clear with a gradient paint. See images for full transparency.
original packaging included?: No original packaging.
Hardware and cap condition: Hardware mint, no cap per product design.
Bottom etching condition & is batch legible?: Bottom etching & batch is legible and properly skip traced to 2021.
Glass chips: None
Scuffs: Yes - on the gradient paint - not the glass - simply cosmetic.
Cracks: None
Not included: Original packaging.
(COLLECTOR 1 ON 1 - FINAL THOUGHTS)
This discontinued late 2010's tropical berried amber lilial flanker just keeps getting more rare as we now move closer to the 2030's & into a generation of more severe IFRA regulations weakening the quality & strength of perfumery.
Mix that with the 5 year maceration time, & it's virtually impossible to be able to make nor experience this formula again unless you want to wait until 2031.
Now dare I say this is one of a kind.
Just holding this & observing it - you feel its vintage charms.
Listing looks looks fresh from the factory in 2021 so it is a time capsule from 5 years ago.
Great collector's piece!
.5 decades of maceration pre-IFRA regulations on lilial with the exceptional Paco Rabanne brand quality results in a performance that resembles a modern Parfum type fragrance. Do not let the 'EDP' name deceive you - this is richer & more potent than modern fragrances of today.
Invest in a vintage - it not only smells better, & has extended performance, but even the product lasts you longer. Ask yourself if spending less money on diluted formulas is actually saving you money & ask yourself if the quality is WORTH the $.
Buying vintage means overall less applications - & MORE life out of this precious 100 ml. / 3.4 fl. oz. listing. There is far more life in this listing than meets the observer. Possibly could last you a lifetime if only grabbed on special high energy clubbing scenarios during the warm weather months. Made before the turn of the strict IFRA regulations on lilial.
Literally 2-3 applications & you're good!
Allow me to emphasize how rare this formula is now & will be even more so in the future.
These just keep getting more rare especially the discontinued formula from the late 2010's.
Decent price for a collector wanting to own this iconic original well preserved first formula from the brand of Paco Rabanne.
Summery clubbing fragrance with a Mango-berried-hot red amber twist.
Stand out from the rest attention grabbing summer scents!
Decent price for a collector to own this iconic original well preserved formulation!
These haven't inflated in price per ml. comparable to some other vintage perfumes out there...at least yet.
I expect these to reach even higher prices someday - that's how divine this stuff is.

✅WHY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE THROUGH GUARDIAN OF THE FRAGRANCES & NOT OTHER VENDORS…

Over 20 years of reliable gold standard service with satisfied customers leaving literal paragraphs on their positive feedback ratings. Other sellers send you the item you paid for with a sad invoice slip - feels so cold & impersonal. I go beyond that with sending you a goodie bag with purchase to make your fragrance investment more worthwhile. YOU even chose the free gift! A written thank you note for supporting my shop included. All items in my shop are accurately & fairly priced to reflect the value of the vintage fragrance. Special goodie bag/bonus gift are never factored into the pricing. It's truly a thank you gift.
✓ One-category shop
I’m not selling a mess of random various thrift items that I know nothing about. At Guardianofthefragrances; you are shopping at a niche market that specializes solely on discontinued perfumery formulations. ‘One category shops’ like mine provide customers with a unique shopping experience that is backed with knowledge & experience within that category as well as shows I have a deep passion in what I am selling. Buying from fine-tuned one category shops like mine makes all the difference in a rewarding shopping experience. That seller who has listed some sneakers, baseball cards, hoodies, & that cologne you want - he may know its authentic & well preserved, OR he may not.
✓ Counterfeit Investigation process
With over a decade of professional Revenue Protection expertise investigating fraud & theft for my state of WI utility provider; all vintage fragrances in my shop are expertly studied. Examples of the process include batch searches, listing dating, differentiating formula differences, production quirk studies, listing & cap weighing, taking hardware off to investigate inner details, fragrance strength & quality vetting - how long the performance lasts & the quality of that experience, ect. Anything that I acquire that doesn't pass this process is never listed in my shop
✓ Quality appraisal process
I am college board certified in the state of WI in Sales & Design with over 20+ years of professional experience in appraising personal property & products. At Guardian of the Fragrances; rest assured I am expertly skilled in determining whether your vintage formula has been well preserved. I find the counterfeit investigation process & quality appraisal the most 2 important things in my shop to gain customer trust & I am on a mission to not let you down.
✓ Mutual perfumery hobbyist & collector
Most importantly, I myself am a vintage fragrance hobbyist & collector. In fact, many listings come from my own personal collection after years of collecting back-up products as a hobby. As a hobbyist myself, I know exactly what my shoppers are looking for & what is sorely lacking in this sector. Studying & shopping for rare fragrances for my own collection has taught me the majority of the population are NOT experts in fragrances. Its a language many don't speak like ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. In fact; the fragrance business is the only billion dollar business where the customer knows the least about what they are buying. Just that it 'smells good'. You even go on a forum discussion with hobbyist's & there's more questions than answers. This phenomenon is truly astonishing to me - as I am a personality type that demands answers. At guardianofthefragrances - I have those answers for you. It’s a passion of mine to go above & beyond the ‘indifferent’ lazy fragrance knowledge on vlogger videos & forums to give you real common-sense truths that Designer brands & retails hold back from us. In fact it was poor aloof information provided to the public about fragrances that gave me the drive to launch my business in the first place.
Why should you spend SO much on a fragrance?
(I know you are pondering this if you are new to all this).
✅UNLOCKS STORED MEMORIES IN THE BRAINS HIPPOCAMPUS
Fragrances have an olfactory fingerprint. The brain is so intelligently designed - that it stores a fragrance DNA's composition precisely to the very last ingredient utilized at that time. Smell a modern formula & see what happens - it's like your brain gets low key upset.
Only that special formula composed 10-20-30-40 years ago is the key to unlock vivid feelings of nostalgia.
✅BETTER QUALITY, INGREDIENTS, PERFORMANCE, & CREATIVITY
Made in times prior to culture regulations, production politics, corporate greed, & making man made chemicals for profit; you get the authentic formula(s) the perfumery artist(s) intended from that time resulting in more naturals, less synthetic/cheap aroma chemical alternatives, richer compositions, bolder presence, more layers/less linear, & made in times where smoking was indoors- you get NUCLEAR performance.
✅SMELL BETTER & OR HIGHER QUALITY THEN OTHER MEN AROUND YOU.
In a mass society unaware of vintage fragrances - you will absolutely without a doubt outshine whatever they are wearing. Gain respect, stand out, be the most attractive smelling in the room. In general this is what makes the male gender so enthralled with colognes but vintage amplifies this to the next level. Stop endless influencer searches seeing if something modern performs - just buy vintage.
✅INVEST MORE IN VINTAGE TO SPEND LESS OVER TIME ON MODERN
Vintage fragrances are stronger & need less applications due to concentration. It's not a coincidence they are removing oils in colognes nowadays - they don't want us to know how weakened they are. Many collectors go niche & get into strange off-putting DNAs not realizing they may simply go designer vintage. Beautiful mass pleasing DNA's in the best quality & strength possible. The best way to go forward in perfumery is to go backwards.
If you buy a vintage- You will realize a product that would have lasted you a year is now lasting you over 2+ years. Think about it- you are going from essentially a modern day EDC (Modern edt) to a powerful parfum strength niche like formula. Once you go vintage it's illogical to go back.
✅VINTAGE FRAGRANCES ARE AN INVESTMENT THAT *INCREASE* IN VALUE
Due to the mass, devoted, & awakening population of the vintage fragrance community; vintage fragrances are a collectible commodity matching similar value in precious paintings, antiques, jewelry, gemstones, diamonds, & gold! Unlike most things you 'drive' off the lot; this fragrance will likely be MORE in 2-5-10-15 years. This is my favorite thing about being a collector; my purchase investments lack buyers remorse on as I am buying an investment for the future/ & or discreet savings to liquidate as needed. It's as easy to trade fragrances for cash as it is to liquidate your cash for gold.
✅OVERALL ENHANCEMENT OF THE ATTRIBUTES BELOW VS BUYING MODERN FORMULAS
✓Positive mood enhancer
✓Confidence booster
✓Alluring attractiveness
✓Triggers memories
✓Aromatherapy
✓Makes you more attractive
✓Great impressions
✓Describes your personality
✓Attract other people
(Reformulation talk...)
Unfortunately,
In a modern era's effort to make the small allergen pool of the population safe for the bigger masses
(essentially a 'Safe than sorry' approach for everyone);
Harsh fragrance regulations came into effect within the last 20 years in the EU (United Nations) where nearly all fragrances are still composed.
The SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety), IFRA (International Fragrance Association) & the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) came together together to ban many precious naturals, & unique aroma chemicals due to potential irritant concerns in a small pool of the population.
Every year it seems another ingredient is banned as these chemical giants are auditing & banning aroma materials for simply having slight reactions to sensitive types. To ban something from a total population when said ingredient reacts negatively to only a small group of that population is unnecessary overreach.
To play nice & to still get credibility for selling 'Safe' fragrances; all Designer perfumery brands have submitted to these giants for full EU support of their product(s).
Between 2010-2022;
The EU has now banned over 2,000 ingredients in the beauty & fragrance business.
This massive ingredient ban in beauty products is more than any other world region in history!
In comparison, the United States has banned only 17 ingredients from beauty products made in the USA.
Unfortunately for fragrance enthusiasts, a VERY small percentage of designers make their fragrances in America.
By 2030; the EEB (European Environmental Bureau) anticipates over 5,000-7,000 ingredients to be banned in total.
Rules, reformulations, synthetic ingredients, cost-cutting, & keeping up with modern scent trends have weakened performance of modern favorites from the past. This is not a theory or paranoia, this is becoming more evident in the fragrance community since the rise of fragrance communities & fragrance Vloggers coming together to compare their findings.
Since this confirmation of industries now releasing overly regulated, synthetic, & weakened modern versions of classic fragrances, beloved vintage fragrance formulas are now highly sought after by collectors or simply average shoppers that just want to reunite with their signature fragrance in its original and true form.
Many are so accustomed to newer compositions they have no idea what they are not experiencing.
vintage EDT formulas are well known to perform more like intense concentrated niche quality Eau de parfums & Parfums!
Newer formulations of the modern age are said to perform somewhere between an Eau de cologne & Eau de toilette with lower quality, more synthetics, & average performance.
DET Vs. DPG:
A chemist in Germany did a gas chromatogram composition breakdown on a vintage & modern day version.
It was found that companies utilized a solvent Diethyl Phthalate (DET) on vintage versions which was known to have a stronger bonding fixative effect on what it touches. Modern day fragrances are replaced with Dipropylene Glycol (DPG).
DPG is commonly utilized in lightly fragrance'd shampoos & DET is in home fragrances. Home fragrance companies don't utilize DPG as the fragrance would immediately leave the base.
Makes you think.
2010's Oakmoss ban:
By far one of the most controversial & damaging IFRA regulations was the ban/limitations in natural Oakmoss.
This popular natural ingredient has been in every legendary cologne for the past 50 years. All of those classics are now utilized with weaker synthetics.
Since Oakmoss is a base note & has lasting fixative effects, modern fragrances now don't perform well without it.
2022 Lilial ban:
& if you thought your top / mid notes were safe. You're wrong.
In 2021, The Scientific committee on consumer safety (SCCS) & the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) banned the note of lilial due to sensitive reactions. (That's it?). They simply stated "It may sometimes act as an allergen."
Lilial was a common note in modern perfumery.
With Lilial being a synthetic aromatic soapy aldehyde; it gave it's fragrance a sweet yet refreshing intense floral green odor. No other aroma chemical has yet to produce the same effects.
Fragrance shelf-life lies:
One of the biggest gaslighting scams is the myth that fragrances naturally 'Expire/go bad' due to time alone.
Fragrances are not your local produce guys, they are a chemist composition of naturals and fragrant chemical aromas full of preservatives. That chemist recipe is THEN preserved in a percentage average of 80 per ALCOHOL. This 80 per alcohol is combined with 10 per aroma chemicals & 10 per naturals. To assume 10 per natural ingredients expire in a whopping 80 per alcohol composition is a HUGE stretch.
Made with similar strategies, fragrances should instead be compared to vintage wine. Like wine, fragrances in fact get better with age from the process of maceration; when naturals soak for extended periods of time making the formula richer & full of character. Fragrances are not fresh cosmetics with no preservatives sensitive to time - quite the opposite!
Fragrances were even recovered from the 1912 Titanic wreck - with no sins of going bad!
A perfumery salesman perished in the wreck resulting in his briefcase of fragrances found on the BOTTOM of the ocean preserved for over 100 years. In an artifact examination room amongst the muck & tragedy,
The recovered perfumery was presented to the room & by surprise brought the room to LIFE again, aromas of beautiful fruits, florals, resins, & woods sourced from so long ago.
The experience was so powerful to the scientist- it made a grown man cry.
Fragrances may face neglect...but don't go bad from just the passing of time.
I guess any myth will be claimed for these fragrance industries that want you coming in to buy their modern products.
The modern recipe / The modern day scent:
Modern fragrances just aren't good you guys, whether that be a brand new scent or a reformulation of a classic.
Anything modern follows the same pattern; fake fruity tops to lock you in, aromatic regulated molecules to give you general masculinity, then a base gob-smacked with scratchy ambroxan / synthetic cloying sweetness to ultimately distract you so don't notice how ridiculous the entire composition smells.
It's truly depressing what they release nowadays.
You might as well wear your home cleaner.
fortunately,
In every generation...
...A guardian is born.
A guardian to make the world a better place.
Now, our memories are under siege.
You may wonder..."What is happening to my signature fragrance, & why?"
"Is it all in my head?"...It's not.
Designer brands are gaslighting you.
Retail associates are lying to you.
They don't want you to know about me...
the Guardian of the Fragrances.
Vintage formulas taking asylum & preserved under my guardianship.
The awakening is growing, don't be excluded.
Be a member of the fragrance houടe & houടe a refugee today!
